It was a white bird about 8 feet tall, with red eyes that looked like two red pearls on white clouds. It was very beautiful to look at. Therefore, he took a few more steps forward before stopping dead in his tracks. Just ahead of him there was a very large black bird sitting on top of his window sill. A huge black bird. Not a bird like the ones that lived near the edge of town where he lived. No, this one had a much bigger wingspan and much wider spread. Its feathers were dark grey, almost black. And its eyes were white. It reminded him of a crow, which was an animal that he usually avoided. Normally, he avoided those creatures at all costs, especially crows, because, while they were good enough to hunt and carry off unsuspecting prey, there was nothing pleasant about their presence in his house.
