The line between reality and my desperate wish had blurred, and now here I was—lost in this surreal void, questioning everything I thought I knew. "No… no way." My voice trembled, disbelief settling in. This couldn’t be happening. The fog pressed around me again, thick and cold, but something else was dawning in the back of my mind. Could I really do it? Had I somehow wished myself out of there? “I’m losing it,” I whispered, letting out an awkward, shaky laugh. “I’m really going crazy, thinking I’ve got some kind of… superpowers.” The laugh died on my lips as another thought crept in. But I wished to disappear.

So all the nights I spent awake thinking about it obsessively ended up being a tremendous waste of time. It’s not the healthiest way of thinking, but it’s better than what I had before. Not a lot of people understand this notion. Brett does. We went through something similar growing up. It kept our bond tighter over the years. “There has to be something,” he says. “Everyone wishes for something. What’s your biggest wish? Maybe there’s a place you want to visit. A cuisine you wish to try. Anything.”

'Make a wish' Closing my eyes I took in a deep breath. "I-I wish.. i would finally be happy for once in my life." Opening my eyes, I watched as the star moved pass me. I closed my eyes and smiled, feeling like things are going to be okay for me. I would finally be happy.

And the more I think about them, the more I get a headache. There has to come a point where I stop trying to convince myself that my twenty-twenty vision is failing me and I’m not straight up hallucinating. Even though it’s foggy on the water, I can feel a trickle of sweat roll down my spine. I have no plan, no belongings, just this desperate desire to escape. I have to get away from here. I row and row until my arms feel like they’re just going to break off. Finally, I see a respite. The fog begins to thin out. I’m ready to weep tears of relief.

I had a lot of plans for our future but it all went down to the fire pits. Everything I thought possible became impossible. The flowers of hope dried once again. The passion that was re-ignited inside of me just got watered down until it was nothing but black ashes. The happiness and the future that I’ve been imagining became just a blur and it eventually turned into a wishful thinking. And most of all, Lance lost Lance into the void of nothingness where there’s no way for me to be able to reach and rescue it.

She bit her lower lip and clenched her fists. "I wish to die." She wished, a torturous expression on her face, as she couldn't bear the pain anymore. His consoling made her feel better but she didn't have any reason to live on.
