[Juliet's POV] The music at the celebration party continued. Surrounded by a crowd, Alison basked in the crowd's repetitive praises. Suddenly, a deafening boom came from the city walls. Overlapping growls and roars of zombies tore through the atmosphere. Terror erupted instantaneously. People in the crowd screamed, "It's a swarm of zombies! A massive swarm of zombies!" A guard ran over, staggering along the way. "The lightning barrier on the right of the base has been breached. There's a massive gap. Zombies are coming through soon!"

I spoke through clenched teeth, "Hans... f*cking... open your eyes... and look at the world we live in..." "Let go of Captain Cloude!" Lucas suddenly lunged forward, only to be kicked away by Hans. Winnie hid behind him, revealing half her face while flashing me a victorious smile. However, the sharp-eyed Lucas noticed a red dot on her arm. "You... You were bitten by a zombie?"

His instincts were much stronger than those of a human being. However, they worked too late. Livia turned her wheelchair around and stretched out a crooked wrist like a chicken claw. At the same moment, the Dark was roused, heading towards the undead in a death-dealing wave. Zomzom twitched in a fit of horror, but he couldn’t move. His limbs froze. He felt as if he’d turned into a puppet. A doll with only his eyes alive.

Something that could wipe humanity off the map. “The ones who survive… are becoming… something else,” I murmured under my breath, barely able to believe it. “Zombies,” I whispered.
