Juliette’s POV: The rising sun burned through the remnants of dust and smoke, casting long, golden streaks across the ruins of the fortress. I stood atop a ridge, overlooking the pack as they moved through the debris like ants rebuilding a colony. Liora’s voice rang out, crisp and commanding, directing squads to fortify weak points, organize patrols, and train the younger wolves in defensive formations. I could see the Warrior moving with precision among them, correcting stances, adjusting grips, showing them how to anticipate attacks before they happened. He was physically here, a pillar of strength for the pack, yet in my mind, the tether between us hummed like a living thing.

My wolf Lottie whimpered in fear not wanting anything to do with him. Trent had me cornered and looked ready to pounce on me. However, I stayed strong with a burst of courage. Gradually with every word that he spoke, Nicole was beginning to regain her consciousness but just then a day tipped over one of the stainless steel objects there that made such a loud sound. As the fight got more intense, the two werewolves shifted, so that where two men were fighting before, there was a very large grey wolf, Thomas, and a slightly smaller black wolf, Jonas. The wolves circled each other, the grey one’s eyes full of wisdom, experience, and anger. In the black wolf’s eyes were a knowing look … and triumph, which was weird because it was being beaten hands down. Several bones in its body had been broken and it was favoring its right front leg, whereas the other wolf was very much unhurt. Dean’s POV continued- The cells are usually kept pretty dark. Since the wolves have better night vision it’s not a problem for them, but when we turn the bright spot lights on it sure makes it a lot worse for them too. We keep the observation area dark so the rogue can’t see everyone in the room. I decided not to tell Alec and Zander because, well, I still wanted to have a little fun. We got to the interrogation area and I held up a hand so they knew to hold back a bit, then I gave the signal for the lights. The flinching and barely audibly cursing coming from the wolves? Worth it. It took a second for them to recover and I tried my best to hide my smirk as Alec looked at me.
