She picked up one of the first things I’d pulled out of the bag. “Catnip tea.” She stated. “This is good for the baby’s skin. If she happens to get baby acne or hives, this will help, and it tastes good, so you won’t have a problem getting the little one to drink it.” She then picked up the turpentine. I raised an eyebrow at her quizzically. “When the baby is born, open this and set it on the highest shelf closet to the front door. It will help kill germs as people enter your home and minimize the chances of the little one getting sick.”

Mom made us roast chicken with veggies and potatoes for dinner and we chatted as we ate. "Are you excited about your new job?" Cassy asked my mom. Mom grinned and replied, "I am! It's kind of a new old job for me though. I worked at this paper after I graduated and until Cerise was born. I'm excited to see how it's changed." I grinned at her.
