“I think I should get that” I told Ivan, untangling myself from our embrace. 

I went to my table, took the phone from my purse and saw it was Jade that was calling then I answered the phone and went back to the bed to sit by Ivan. I looked at him and mouthed ‘Jade’ and he nodded in understanding and mouthed ‘tell her I said Hi’.

“Hey, what's up?” I asked her.

“You're alive, thank God! The way he looked so angry, I thought you'll be dead meat by now!” she exclaimed and I looked at Ivan who was suppressing a laugh which caused me to laugh. Her exaggeration skills are over the top.

“Ivan would never kill me” I said fondly, smiling at him.
