“ I am getting married, ‘’ Olivia said as she flashed her hands directly to my face , showing me the engagement ring that she wore on her fingers .

I looked at her , not knowing exactly what to say to her. What did she mean by she was getting married , she never told me she was in a relationship not to talk of getting married .

Olivia's face fell , the hint of disappointment showing in her face as she looked at me .

“ I know that I should have told you about this, this is the same reason why I didn’t tell you about this over the phone because I know that this is exactly how you were going to react to it.

“ you never told me you were in a relationship, and you telling me that you are engaged is shocking , knowing the fact that I have been away for over the past two years and we have been talking all day since I left and yet you could keep this crucial piece of information away from me , just to throw it on my face just my first day of being home ‘’

Olivia smiled and stretched her hands trying to hold mine, but I moved mine back and that was when she signed .

“ I am so sorry pookie but I am your best friend and I had my own reasons for keeping it away from you , can you please just be happy for me’’ she told me .

Staring at the girl in front of me , I didn’t know exactly how I was feeling at this moment , I had this mixed feelings inside of me and I didn’t know if I was good or not , but my best friend was getting married and I was definitely going to be happy for her , it had been our dream all along and the fact that she got to actualize it before me makes it more interesting because i am the one in a relationship.

“Congrats best’’ I told her as I smiled revealing the joy that I had in me all this while .

Olivia immediately stood up and hugged me tightly , ignoring the unlimited eyes of people in the place where we sat .

After she had hugged me for a while , she sat down still holding that smile .

I knew exactly what she was going to ask next , we had sworn to do that to each other.

I am going to be your maid of honor of course “ I told her and she giggled expectedly as she dropped the glass of drinks she had in her hands .

“So baby the marriage is in two days and everything that you need is already set. All you just have to do is get dressed and be there on my big day .

Two days' time , isn’t it too sudden ?” I asked again even if I didn’t want to .

I am sorry , that’s how he wants it and I don’t want him to get mad about it .

“ So are you planning on letting me see this man before your wedding day because I haven’t met him and as your best friend , I think I need to me him first .

“ I don’t think that will be necessary , because I want it to be a surprise , but trust me , I already told him what he needs to know about you and after our wedding you can get to meet him .

Oh , if that’s what you want I told her as I checked my phone for his text.

Have you heard from Noah , I expected him to be here because initially I wanted this outing to be just the three of us so i can get to hang out with you guys , but Noah hasn’t replied to any of my text and I am beginning to get really worried about it , considering the fact that he always wanted me back home .

I think I have to go now, and I am so sorry if Noah is isn’t here yet , but I think that I have more important things that I have to tend to , about the drinks , I will pay for my part and see you later in two days time “ she told me as she stood up and without waiting for another word she walked away .

Watching her retreating figure was the least thing that I expected , this wasn’t what I had expected my first day at home to be .

After being away from home for two years , I have always dreamt of being back and spending the day with my boyfriend and my best friend , but my boyfriend of seven years seems to be too busy and my best friend was getting married in two days time .

Even though I wanted to be happy for her , I still had that feeling in me , I could feel something was wrong .

Olivia and I had been best friends since childhood and this is the first time she is hiding away from me .

I didn’t want to judge her , I just had to respect her decision .

Just then a text from Noah came saying that he had an urgent business that he had to take care of .

I didn’t exactly know how I was feeling but after paying for the drinks , I stood up and drove back home .

There was just one thought lingering in my heart and just one answer to it but I knew that I had to do it regardless .

I want to know exactly who she was getting married to before that day. I know this isn’t what I should do but I just have to .
