I love the dark part of this story. It's touchy and realistic. Even though I just read the first chapter, I felt every meaningful touch and idea the author wanted to pass through. I'm so impressed and I definitely love this. Keep it up, writer.

Chapter One

Power is neither good or evil, but its beholder makes it so. A weapon is mostly described as evil, however it can also save one's life. It is the user that decides whether it is used for good or bad.Power has the ability to produce an effect, to influence, to change. And without change, what was life anyway.   I had always lived my life as a simple young woman with no problem. Why wouldn't I? I had everything an average person should dream of having. My sister and I made an amazing team. I mean if you didn't compare her extremely tall and skinny physique to my petite shape. Or why we didn't shared the same long coal black hair that cascaded down her back every time she walked. To be honest, she was the exact opposite of me. And I had always envied that part of her. But the two of us were inseparable.Until all hell attacked. Life had always been all good to me. Our town was a small one compared to others, but it was a town where th

Chapter Two

Bang!We didn't really had lots of friends, so a knock by that time sure bothered us.We shared a who-could-that-be look before managing to agree perfectly well that we would go check it out. And from the looks of it, literally, Tara would go check it out.The banging continued growing more loud and reckless."Kerik you're not expecting anyone, are you?" Tara finally asked, making use of her words and immediately walking straight to the door."I know I'm a lot of things, but I don't keep insane humans as friends." Following Tara to the door I thought about who must have been desperately trying to break down our door.Tara slowly reached for the door and opened it gently. Standing grumpily in front of us was a burly figured bald man. Glancing at him, I quickly observed an ornamented sewing of a black serp

Chapter Three.

One smile can start a friendship. One word can end a fight. One look can save a relationship. One individual can change your life. For good or bad of course! I wished I knew this sooner. Maybe I could have restrained myself, put my pride aside, and it would have done us good. On the contrary, I was not weak. Otherwise my name meaning 'the strong one' would have had no meaning. I had the right to do whatever I pleased. Everyone always does, didn't they? But still...  It'd been four days now since we received the ominous invitation from the keepers. Four bloody days. They were onto us, like we were criminals that needed to be punish. The next day we set out to work, old man Ayer had warned us to be weary of our footsteps. Mine especially, since I had gotten us into that mess anyway. They had sent a message to everyone in Beladonia not to trust us, and threatened to severely punish anyone who dared associated with us. More companies arrive

Chapter Four.

Sir Ayer was dead. Dead! Nobody knew who killed him. No. Everyone pretended like they didn't know his killer. A logical thing to do,if you didn't want to become next. A coward. That was what everybody became. But I wasn't ready to turn into one. I might be sweet, nice and ready to abide to every rules and regulations, but the demon inside me was only sleeping. Not dead.  'Think about your life,is it worth foolishly loosing?' You might want to ask me that. Well is doesn't really feels like I was living. There's just the body, but no life in it.Charging grumpily to the gates of hell, well it wasn't scary at all. I felt no fear,on the contrary all that cluttered up in my lifeless body was this ravaging rage. This time the devil should be scared of me. A powerless, thoughtless, completely hopeless me.I thought there would be a somewhat change in mind as I got to the entrance, but no. Nothing."You there, open up!" If it's a visit t

Chapter Five.

What had I done? The monster that followed me around had finally found a way to kill me without leaving a tiny scratch on my body. How can he take away my last remain of happiness? What then will I do from henceforth? How would I live when a big part of my heart had stopped breathing? This was really the end. I lost.Fenrel had asked me to marry my sister off to him,and I had rudely turned down his offer. Again. I wasn't going to give up my sister to a beast like that. Besides I could never marry Tara to any man. That had to be her choice.   Although I left the keepers territory in one piece, watching Fenrel with a big smile on his face. I knew it just wouldn't end there. More was to be expected. Reaching home I immediately warned Tara and Ragnila who was with us at the moment, suggested that we quickly packed a few things and moved out of the city for a few while. Luckily they didn't even argued. After a while we were do

Chapter Six.

"Kerik! Kerik!"I could hear a voice faintly crying out. That was strange. My name was being called."Kerik!" The voice became a little louder. It was just a dream. Nothing was real. Finally I could wake up."Kerik!" Ragnila screamed out shaking my shoulders.No. It was all real. Fenrel had just vaporized into thin air and Tara.. She was still gone."He's, he's,he's-" Staring blankly at Ragnila as I fumbled for the right words, wishing everything could just made sense. I felt a lump in my throat as I was already misty-eyed. No. I fought against the urge to cry. I had to do something. Anything else but to cry."Kerik. I saw what happened,I know it was intense but I know how to help. Let me help, please. I know who took Tara." She babbled on,but got my attention when she mention Tara."Who?""I don't know exactly but I think-""Hold on

Chapter Seven.

"Careful with that..""Don't.."I woke up to the muffled sound hushed from - very close by. I hadn't met the owners of those voices but I already knew I hated them. Who goes around disturbing other in their sleep. I allowed my body turn overed preparing for another round of sleep. The tickling of damp grasses on the uneven ground, chattering of squirrel and the melodious birds singing..Where was I? I jumped up with my eyes fully opened scanning the environment I'd found myself in. I observed Ragnila still sleeping peacefully like an angel, next to a lizard. I advanced forward to wake her, chasing the lizard away. I hated those creepy slimy creatures. Remembering our visit with Angela,I figured I was finally in the land of the dead. Angela had killed us.

Chapter Eight.

Tell me if a person falls apart alone in the dark, does it make any sound? And let's say it does,is it as loud and devastating as a decaying broken heart when it's finally found? Or is the sound a soft strangulation hidden that we all miss the time behind words like 'I'm fine'?Nila had mention earlier that Tara's necklace just fell on the floor and she didn't wanted to return it yet because she was afraid of how I'd react."I found it, and I knew I should have rightfully returned it but.. I'm sorry Kerik. You just weren't in a stabilized form to have received it yet"Maybe she was right after all. Tara meant the whole world to me and she still does. My only motivation for living. Imagine if your most precious possession; your mother, father, sibling, best friend or even your dog disappeared in your presence, and you. You felt t

Chapter Nine.

"You are weak my friend!" Irises said as she threw her short knives at me. She just stretched her hands forward and boom! The knives came out. I didn't understand the magic of how that happened. She mentioned her name was Irises and her mission on finding the last of the dragon stone to return to her master. How powerful was this necklace anyway? I didn't know. Besides she didn't really offered me much time to think about that.I quickly bowed dodging the released knifes that floated up in thin air, ordered to chop off my head. For a woman named Irises, she was nothing like her name. Instead she had one task only. To get this necklace off my neck however means necessary. Even if that meant killing who or what ever gets in her way."Surrender at once! I wonder why our gel doesn't work on you." She paused for a moment, then continued her hunting."Why do you need this necklace?""I don't ne
