Chapter 50

Jace's POV

"She did tell the truth. She was just removing a loose thread." I defended Liza.

"Stop it, Jace. Stop it or I will seriously kill you." She howled enragedly.

Jenna said things that I would never forget. A point came when I lost my patience and pulled her to my chest.

"You're calling me names. What about you? Why did you go to help Chris if you seriously despised him and loved me?"

"I went for the sake of old times, bastård! I didn't even see him. He was seriously injured. Without a mate, he was extremely weak. His entire pack could've died if I didn't go there." Her tears caught my attention.

They were transparent I know, but to me they appeared pink because all the area around her eyes and her nose was pink. I held her against my chest with an arm as with the other I cupped her face.

This face... I missed this face and prayed for this woman's safety. For the days she was gone, I didn't sleep properly. Her safety bothered me. So did the storms she carried in her chest.

My gaze fell on her lips. I rubbed a thumb over the rim of her bottom lip before sucking it in my mouth.

Jenna ceased all motions in my arms. The effect of our connected lips weakened her. Our bond played its magic and she kissed me back. I felt as though a hand came out of nowhere and was saving me from drowning in the middle of the ocean.

Her responding to my kiss meant she trusted me. That made me deepen the kiss. My fingers went into her hair as my tongue in her mouth. We were at each other's mercy. We were drinking from each other. Feeling up for each other.

That's until she remembered something and pushed me back.

"You pervërt."

"Your pervěrt you mean." I smirked, causing her cheeks to turn crimson amidst those tears in her eyes.

"It's high time now, Jace. You might not cheat on me. You might always maintain your distance. She won't. This can't go on. You have to throw her out of here." Back at it again!

Closing my eyes, I inhaled deeply.

"You know I can't do that. What you saw today was a misunderstanding."

"Misunderstanding? Misunderstanding! So it's always going to be a misunderstanding until it becomes real." She shouted as she paced around hotly. "Jace, you really need to make a decision now."

She stopped in front of me. Her eyes were like a dark tempest against my clear like sunny day ones.

"You need to make your choice today."

"...."

"Me and our son… or her."

"Don't make me do this. Please..." I sighed agonizingly. "You both are my family. How can I choose between you two, Jenna?"

"Why not?" She snapped. "Choose the family that is the dearest to your heart."

I gaped at her in daze.

"It's not possible, Jenna. You're my wife. She's my cousin. You both have different positions in my life. You're my life and she's my responsibility."

"Then why can't you simply tell me that we're more important?" She stomped her foot. "You can't even say it."

Her voice cracked at the last statement. I quickly stepped closer and touched her face. Nevertheless, she threw my hands away and gave me that fiery glare.

"If you don't choose today, then I'm leaving Jace. You have two minutes." Two minutes passed like two seconds. Jenna scoffed as tears strolled down her eyes. "Fine. I get it."

She wiped the tears from her cheeks, "I get it. You're choosing her."

My chest was rising and falling in frustration. My wolf wasn't liking how she was putting pressure on us. He was the Alpha King. The strongest of all, and he didn't even like our mate so much attempting to dominate us.

'Let me out, Jace. Let me take control and deal with her. She's our mate but she doesn't get to treat us like other husbands. Let me out, Jace.' Denis grumbled.

I suppressed him in my chest. Him coming out would mean a direct divorce. I know my wolf. He is very bitchy and ill-mannered. The word 'respect' doesn't exist in his dictionary.

"Since you don't want me, I'll take our son and leave. It was because of him I came here as your wife. I'll take him."

The mention of our son, his heir, rendered me speechless. My heart skipped in fear. Fear means weakness. And weakness means a weak control over your body. Denis took advantage of that and overpower my body.

'Denis, no!'

He tried to stop him but he had already done the deed— He had pushed Jenna on the floor in submission by her shoulder as he hissed into her face.

"You weak wolf will take my heir away from me. You— a weak Luna who couldn't even protect herself from her ex-husband's oppression eight months ago?" I hated how my voice sounded. It was full of wickedness and malice.

It was my wolf's voice combining with mine. But I couldn't tell that to Jenna. She probably thought it was me as her eyes turned frighteningly wide as though her heart was squeezed to death.

"You want to go... Go! But you're not taking my heir." Denis pushed Jenna on the floor.

"He's not just your heir. He's my son too!"

"Yeah? Then treat him like one— Not like some bargaining chip." Denis turned her around.

"I'm his mother! I can take him with me."

"And where will you take him?" Denis faced her again and flashed a shark grin.

That sent her heart speeding up. She was seeing a person that was not me.

Yes, Jenna. Love, it's not really me. It's my pathetic, conceited and ugly wolf.

'Shut up, asswïpe. You couldn't handle a woman alone. Don't interrupt me now.'

"Where will you take him? How will you raise him? You have no kingdom, no income, no resources of your own." Denis mocked her. "You have nothing. So tell me how you will raise him without any money."

Denis made my hand grab her hair.

'Don't do it, scumbag! She's our mate.'

He ignored my shouts and sniggered in her face, "You're standing here threatening to take my heir as though you can simply walk out with him and build a life overnight. But you know what... You are nothing without me. You're zero. I make you a hero. I... The Alpha King wolf, the strongest of all, makes you who you are."

"They respect you because my name is linked to yours. Once it's gone, see if they will bow to you."

Her face crumpled. Jenna appeared like something in her had broken beyond repair.

Pain clawed through me. Her brokenness was making her more and more weaker. So weak that it was not enough to push Denis down and take control over my body.

"So that's what you think of me?" She whispered while closing her eyes. "That I'm zero without you."

"After everything I've done for you… you think I have nothing? I'm useless?"

"You think I can't give our son a good life because I have no money or no name? But I thought... I have you." Her voice choked on the last word.

Chapter 58 Jace's POV We were silent for a long time. Neither of us spoke. Suddenly Jenna lifted her face and eyes me innocently."What?" I chuckled. She nodded in no, "You burned Liza alive."My face stilled. I pulled her closer and joined our foreheads, "I had to. She was the bane of our family."I kissed her."Also," I added. "She made me doubt my wife's intentions. I had to punish her."At that, she hugged me tighter and rested her face on my shoulder. She was sitting straddling my waist while I held her like my toddler baby.My back had healed. Hence, I was able to sit this way.The doctors had been worried because the wound wasn't healing in my state of unconsciousness. That's the reason why they refused to give any answer. But the second I woke up, the wound healed, and all the residue of wolfsbane and silver was eliminated by my immune system."What happened to Chris and that lady?" I suddenly asked as I remembered those two."Both dead. And that lady was Doctor Henry's daug

Chapter 57Jenna's POV 'Thanks, bro. Head towards the Rogues' territory with your team. I'll meet you there.''Roger that!''Okay.'We broke the link. I sucked a sharp breath as I focused on the road ahead. If I drive at high speed, I'll get there in twenty minutes.Jenna, hold on for a while, love. Your husband is coming to get you.(Twenty minutes later)"Jace, finally you're here." Oakley came running towards my car as I applied brakes."Did you find her location?" I was not even fully out of the car."Yes, and already stationed our soldiers around the area." Oakley said, sending a wave of relief through me."Thank, goddess.""Don't worry, Jace. The situation is already in our control." Oakley flashed a shark grin and my eyebrows cocked in confusion. "Chris's soldiers look novice. They are not attentive at all, let alone alert.""I think he brought untrained wolves here. And I must add that his Beta and Gamma are not here either."I acknowledged with a nod, "He's probably doing it

Chapter 56Jenna's POV Jace has never touched her before. He hadn't done it this time either. It's that bìtch who always found ways to go near him.'There's no point in giving yourself false hope, Jenna. Jace isn't the man we thought he was. Accept it.' Gianna said.A feeling of disappointment rose over me. No! My wolf is not right here. She's hurt from Jace's wolf's words, and rest is the impact of wolfsbane.Jace loves us.'You really think that? Then tell me, why didn't he come after us when we left?'he He might have a reason.'No,' Gianna grunted weakly. 'It's because he was bewitched by his mistress's beauty and he chose her instead.'That's not true. I was breathless in anger. Gianna's words struck a chord that it shouldn't have.'I'll prove it to you that Jace still only loves us.'Having that said, I lowered my guard. I had blocked out everyone and their feelings to avoid getting caught. However, as I lowered my guard, I could feel my family's emotions— Jace's first. He was

Chapter 55Jenna's POVI regained my senses at the feeling of stabbing spasms stretching throughout my body. My eyelids were heavy and so I couldn't drag them open. But my other senses were working well.I could hear and smell and feel my surroundings. The air was crackling with the chirping of thousands of crickets, meaning that I was most likely in a forest area; or where there were a lot of trees.I dragged in a deep breath to catch scents, and realized that wood was burning somewhere. Then I heard the noise of fire crackling. A bonfire. I subtly rubbed my hand on the ground and sensed the coarse texture. Soil. All the elements directed to one point, I was in a forest. My eyes felt better now. I was about to open them when, "Hadn't she woken up yet?" A familiar voice asked."No, Alpha Chris. After she turned into her human form while fainting, she's been just like that." Someone said,It wasn't Cleo's voice. Hmm. Perhaps Chris flew all the way to Silent Hills city with a small team

Chapter 54Jace's POV "Let this be a lesson to all those who think they can fool the Alpha King just because I trust them." I announced as I paced around with a flaming torch in my hand. Behind me a pyre was built in the middle of the city for people to watch. On it Liza was tied to a pole. She was drenched with petrol and shaking. Her eyes were red. She begged me to let her go, that she was honestly apologetic. That she acknowledged her blunder and would go away. "My trust has never been a weakness. My willingness to believe in those who stand beside me does not make me blind, nor does my kindness make me a fool. I give people my trust because I choose to see the good in them. Because I consider them my previous ones. But the moment that trust is betrayed, do not mistake my silence for ignorance. And don't ever think that you can outsmart me."I came to a halt. The flames were crackling beside my face. It was night now, the sky was dark with no stars. There were light poles around
