One had a thick scaled tail dragging slowly behind him, dark green scales glinting beneath his armor while slit-pupiled eyes fixed on me with cold curiosity. Another bore feline traits—golden eyes, sharp ears half-hidden in dark curls, and elongated canines visible beneath a slow smile. The third was broader than the others, massive feathered wings folded behind his back, his pale eyes unnervingly sharp, like an eagle studying something small enough to snatch from the ground. Every single one of them was staring at me. Hungrily. “Well,” the one with the lizard tail drawled, a grin spreading across his face. “What do we have here?”

The beast name is a hippo-beast. "These ones are always in their beast forms, and they differ in strengths because each one of them has their own tiers." The goddess said. "Tiers?" Joseph asked. "Yes, all beasts have different tiers. The first tier is the basic tier, followed by the intermediate tier, advanced tier, expert tier, master tier, ultimate tier, absolute tier. They are all seven tiers, but let me tell you, you also as a merman have your tier of power. I guess you haven't unlock any of your Merman power, have you?" The goddess asked.

The first one was the bull with rhino horns, the second was a half elephant half hippopotamus, the third was a half lion half grey falcon which is mainly known as a Griffin, the fourth was a half vampire bat half inland taipan, the fifth was a half panther half eagle, the sixth was a half monkey half scorpion, the seventh was an half blue ring octopus half fox, the eighth was a half grizzle bear half tiger, the ninth one was a half kangaroo half gorilla and the final one was a mixture of a cheetah,

“No.” Her voice was flat, emotionless, but it sent a chill down my spine. “Okay,” I said, raising my hands slightly. “I was just asking—” “You’re the tenth,” she said abruptly, cutting me off. I blinked. “Excuse me?” “You’re the tenth,” she repeated, her gaze unwavering. “The tenth girl he’s chosen.” I stared at her, unsure of what to say. “And soon enough,” she continued, her tone dropping to something almost sinister, “you’ll be dead like the others. The greener pasture appeared out of nowhere, it was like a totally different world. Looking at the beast before me, I couldn't help but smirk… just as always, the abominable beast had terrible and disgusting looks. This particular one was more like an advanced version of the one I had killed. Its horns were elongated and very sharp. Its skin could be likened to that of a crocodile, it's like a tail about 105cm. It had five eyes on its face, and just like I guessed it had a terribly long tongue.

The spirit beast ran to the border before stopping, but all we could see were the three beastmen. "You vile beasts, where have you taken Vee?" Mother angrily scolded them, forgetting that she was merely the ruler of a small kingdom. Sure enough, the three beastmen burst into laughter upon hearing that. Felix casually tugged on a rope beside him. "Ha! Like mother, like daughter—so defiant." Sharp wails came from the cliff's edge. "Mother, no! Don't anger them or I'll die! They're all insane!" Mother was gripping my hand tightly, and when she discovered Victoria hanging from the cliff wall by a thin rope, her nails dug into my flesh.

“Wait... take a look at this.” I withdrew my eyes from her face and looked at the book in her hands. She was on a page that had information about the four celestial beasts. The dragon, phoenix, tiger, and turtle. It said the beasts were guardians of the celestial realms and represented one of the five elements; wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.

Both let out a sigh of relief after they got the tag around the beast's tail which they had used their entire energy to hold the beast down while Heiytu snatched the tag. The beast was the size of a dog but it was fast and had six limbs with two hindlegs enabling it to walk. It was cute in Leqaria's eyes with its head that looked like a mouse and long ears. It wasn’t vicious in nature but easily frightened. And when it was frightened it would run or jump at a speed that was hard for them to capture.
