Rob gives a quick summary. “Oh, a cougar,” I joke. His face floods pink when I tease him about the non-existent age gap. Rob is the oldest in our group and is almost 19. His birthday is right before the school cut off on August 30th, and his parents held him back in kindergarten so he wouldn’t be the youngest kid in the class. Whereas I’m the opposite. My birthday is also right before the cutoff, on August 20th, making me one of the youngest in our class and the youngest in our friends’ group but not by much.

ONE YEAR BEFORE It was the week before Tara’s birthday, and even though she wasn’t quite at the official mating age yet, she was still totally excited about the event. We will celebrate your birthday. 18 is a big deal and we will do it wolf style.”

I didn’t bother about that much. “So your wolf hasn’t woken up yet?” Vince asked me after a while. I nodded my head. “When are you turning eighteen? Usually a wolf would first emerge on that day.” “Just a couple of months away,” I said with a shrug. My birthday was never a big deal, as no one ever remembered that day. I had come to regard my birthday as just another day of the year over the years. Why get excited about becoming a year older when there was nothing to look forward to that day?

He helped Jericho train for the football team, he helped Jenna finish of a science project, he helped Josh ride his bike and he was always there for Julianna whenever she would wake up in the middle of the night crying. One Year Later Twelve months,forty-eight weeks and three hundred and sixty-three days since we lost Isabella and Ireal was born. Tomorrow is her death anniversary and Ireal's birthday. Well technically it is her birthday but I had it moved to the next day after Isabella died. I didn't want her to feel sad on her birthday. She needed the whole day for herself. I have been preparing her first birthday since like forever and it finally here. I can't believe she is almost 1,very soon she'll be a teenager and we'll leaving off to college.
