Glad to see we haven’t changed.” He walked back around the desk with a mutter under his breath that sounded suspiciously like “insufferable whelp.”

I said softly, my voice barely above a whisper. “Alaric?” Alexander’s voice was filled with surprise, his eyes narrowing as he took in the sight of the man who had just entered. “Alaric as in Alaric Reventhorn?” Astrid’s eyes widened, her voice tinged with disbelief. “Yeah, the one and only,” I replied, a small smile playing on my lips despite the judgmental looks from the others. “Lilac, are you sure he’s the right choice?” Madeline asked, her tone cautious.

“I don’t know why he did this to me.” Alden sits there, considering that. Seeing how much this bothers him, I’m glad I’m sitting here. He’s going to find out what happened and why. He’s the Alpha of Wisdom. I have nothing but spite left for Time. No fear. “It’s doctored,” he mutters. “This isn’t a real mark. It’s a deeper brand. A claim.”

“They’re gone. Recently.” Aldric inhaled deeply, forcing his senses outward. Damp stone. Old blood. Smoke. And something else. He froze. A scent lingered beneath everything — faint, cool, metallic in a way that made his wolf’s lip curl. Not wolf. Not human. Something ancient. “What is it?” Darius asked quietly, reading his expression. Aldric’s jaw tightened. “Not a rogue,” he said slowly. “Something else was here.” Regina’s breath hitched behind him.

I wondered what age would look like as a grown-up. I clicked on the file Cedric sent. Elsie Fletcher. Twenty four. Parents dead in a car accident. Had a degree in psychology. No criminal record. Blonde hair……Violet eyes….. It finally came together. But how on earth did she end up as Antonio's assassin? I ran my hand through my hair. “Fucking hell” I muttered under my breath. “Alex?” Cedric called. “I have to go” I ended the call and leaned back on my chair.

There was a warmth to it, like it could comfort and command at the same time. "It's fine," Rya responded with a light but controlled chuckle. "We are actually honoured to be invited, and even welcomed to the Lycan Clan in this elaborate manner." Aldric gave off a warm smile, one that proceeded into a wide smile as though he was impressed somehow. "You're most welcome" Aldric said. "My name is Alpha Aldric, as you should have known. I'm certain you've met with Kael, my beta and commander of the Lycan Forces," he said as he pointed at Kael.

And Alfric Volus is too perfect in his work giving me no room for finding his mistake. I decided to let him be and carry on my work because honestly I have learnt many strategies in business administration from Alfric. From Alfric I got to know that Aubrey was actually pregnant with Michael's baby in the past. She gave birth to a beautiful daughter who looked like Michael, golden hair and green eyes like emeralds.

I could feel my wolf wanting to rip him apart, I knew if I did, it would cause bigger problems. "Alpha Draven, we do not need a show from you. A period Aldric tends to enjoy the most because nothing excites him more than chaos.
