Elsie's POV The warriors gathered around the high platform, watching intently as Commander Hunter called up person after person for the challenge. The exercise looked simple enough, but executing it required precise timing, running full speed, leaping into the air, and completing a full shift to land on four paws atop the raised platform before landing. Some of the warriors failed comically. One male shifted too early, landing flat on his snout in the dirt before even reaching the wood, while another shifted too late, his human knee slamming hard against the edge of the platform with a loud, painful crack that made everyone wince.

My Dad might fancy such but I’m not my Dad. I noticed most of the Warriors were middle-aged he-wolves and she-wolves, but I also noticed some young adults, like me too. I could imagine they had started Combat classes at an early age and had done remarkably well in training for them to have been able to be Reignile Warriors at such a young age. So that basically meant every Warrior here was older than me by Combat rank. I hadn’t finished my combat classes, remember? It had been interrupted twice. Both times by the one and only Cayden.

Clarissa wasn’t sure if he understood and agreed or if he was being playful. “This is the perfect place for that!” Stefan sounded excited. “If you are going to any race’s history and stories for learning about the origin of Onyx Sages and how familiars work, the werecats will be most thorough and profound.” Chief Yungerr smiled his appreciation and pride at Stefan’s compliment. The chief stood confidently and open toward him, indicating how correct Chief Yungerr thought Stefan was. Stefan groaned. “I suppose it would be best to start combat training with Lotus. The sooner we move as one, the better whatever else we learn will absorb.”

He sat with pride and ambition, although neither was befitting for him, he was filled with greed, those cunning eyes, I can see right through them Alpha Lucas Red, your days will be counting. The ceremony ended after the selected 10 warriors were given their titles and positions. All the while, I could feel someone’s eyes on me, it was cold with bloodthirst, I turned around until that man passed a smirk, Alpha Lucas, that piece of non-disposable trash. What did he want now?

Claw’s POV Standing in front of forty to fifty recruits, I observe them with my hands on my waist and a rueful grin on my face. I notice a few imbeciles, twarts, little fuckers. Easy to form into warriors with little time. One of those imbeciles pokes his hand in his nose, taking it into his mouth right after. Real warrior material, these lots. I clear my throat, loud enough to get their attention. “Alright, listen up, mutts!” I bark as I walk in front of them with my arms folded behind my back. “You think you’re wolves? You’re not. You’re puppies who still piss on the floor and cry for mama."

This was the first time she was seeing him here, in the Lord's courtroom and she was a little perplexed on seeing him. Laurier sighed seeing his friend's actions. He knew what she was asking and replied to her immediately. "He is Cathal Bringe. He is the newest addition in the courtroom and he is the only one to have passed the Council exam with a Level Five score." As soon as Laurier uttered the words, Raelynn's gaze snapped to him and she widened her eyes not in shock but in wonder. The Council exam was the exam meant for the people who wanted to enter the Lord's ministry. It was the toughest exam anybody could take and there were no restrictions on it. The scrolls ended at my birth, our future was ours to write. Grandfather stood and faced me. He placed the Tiara on my head and went down on one knee. The alpha had bowed to another, and in that instant power was transferred.
