The figure’s lips curled slightly, a hint of something almost amused in their expression. “I could ask you the same question,” they replied, their voice smooth like silk. “But I suppose it’s not your fault. The Council's reach is far, but it’s not infinite.” They took a step forward, their cloak shifting like liquid, their form becoming more distinct. The cloak was woven with threads of dark silver, and the air around them hummed with a strange energy. “I am called Witto,” the figure continued. “A shadow of the past, a whisper of things forgotten.”
