“Now breathe with me. In through your nose—like smelling a flower. Out through your mouth—like blowing out candles.” We do it together. Over and over. Slowly, painfully, my lungs begin to open. My wheezing softens. The operator—Tracy—keeps her voice calm, coaching us for five minutes until I can speak again. “You need to drink some caffeine,” she tells me. “Ashton, go to the pharmacy now. No delays. Sam, take a dose the second he’s back. If your wheezing doesn’t stop in an hour, call again.”

Ava had to go to the office near the lake, which was shining brightly. There was a tightness in her chest. Whenever she breathed, she wheezed. She reached for her inhaler and made many failed attempts to exhale, finally succeeding after a few minutes. The medicine was quickly ingested by her. Another round of wheezing. A second drag was taken. She gradually regained her breathing capacity. Ava snarled, "I detest them," as she clenched her inhaler in her hand. "They're the worst," she said.

He stood up trying to balance, I made him lie down immediately. "Don't even try it." He kept coughing up, blood mixed inside his mouth. He kept coughing, the coughing became harder each second. Soon, he started wheezing. I panicked watching him as he coughed up blood, his lips turned blue and his fingers started to lose feeling. "Stay awake Dean!" I yelled frantically wiping away the sweat on his forehead, which seemed cold. His teeth started chattering, I could feel his pulse decreasing. "Shh, it's okay I'm here. Everything will be alright." I mumbled, rubbing circles on his back.

It stopped above my knee, revealing a huge amount of my straight legs. I buried myself in the book that I found at the drawing room. Each page seemed to lock my interest. It didn't take time before I dozed off and the book fell upon my face. My faint snores filled the room as I was deep asleep, until I started to hear faint wheezing sounds. Maybe it was my dream. But I wasn't dreaming. Then it should be my imagination. I tossed in my sleep, clutching the soft pillow tightly over my ears before embracing sleep, bit the wheezing sound wound stop.

Harsh breaths wheezing out as I stumble through the group of wolves that are just as stunned. 'No. No no. That's wrong. That's not right. How? No.' I have no breath. The wound on my head stings. I wipe at it. It stings. I can't breathe. The blood has to come off. I didn't do it. I don't know how to do that. My ear rings. The sound is so piercing, I feel it inside my brain. I cover my ears, agonizing pain tearing a soundless scream from me.

The sudden pain blinded me a little, and I felt like I couldn’t even breathe. Now on all fours, I tilted my head to the side, trying to breathe. I managed to catch a glimpse of Taide as he folded his arms and ran a hand across his mouth, a very troubled expression on his face. I looked down at the ground and willed myself to push through and get it over with. But there was a building pressure on my joints that made me question whether I would, in fact, be able to. I wheezed, then screamed when another bone snapped. I could barely hold myself up; sweat slid down my limbs, and my breathing was a dry wheeze of pain because it felt like my chest was collapsing in on itself.

I coughed. And coughed again. A third cough woke me from my sleep. I groggily opened my swollen eyes. My throat was scratchy and felt swollen. My breaths wheezed in as sweat broke out across my forehead. Why was it suddenly so stinking hot in this room?

Dante "What do you mean she can't breathe?" Jenna's panicked voice woke me up from my sleep. I blinked my eyes open, the bright morning light cutting through the tent windows. Jenna was pacing back and forth near the foot of the bed, her phone clamped tight against her ear. "Is the inhaler not working, Chloe?" she yelled into the receiver. "Did you give her the double puff?" She was speaking so loudly that I heard every single word clearly. "Her chest is tight, Jenna! She's having an asthma attack!" The woman who's name I assume was Chloe said, her frantic voice leaked through the speaker.

I couldn't breathe. I held my throat as I felt my airway close up, like it was swollen. My eyes watered and I started to wheeze. Christian rushed to my side instantly, his arms going around me. "Claire! What's wrong? Talk to me!" But I couldn't speak. I couldn't even breathe. My throat felt clogged, like a huge lump had settled there. I was dying.
