Bargain Books For Inmates 소설 & 이야기

I answered with a smile. And he smiled in relief. "The revised contract for Bargain will be delivered this afternoon. No more revisions, Cairen.” "That will be the last. And what are you reading?” I looked at the book he was holding. "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," he answered, and raised it a bit. "You must read it; it's very entertaining." "I am expecting Zach to read only boring books, academic and biography. Not in fiction,” I commented, smirking. His lips curled, and he leaned his broad back against the couch. "You know nothing about me, Cairen. But I don't read romance. It's cliche.”

That thought came quieter than the first one, harder to argue with. A man who accepted a human as bargain for a dent. A man like that, with that kind of money and in a city like velmoor.....What did his house look like? What did he look like? What if I was walking out of one cage and straight into another that was simply larger and better furnished? I walked back to my room with that thought in mind, lay down on the thin mattress without eating and let sleep evade me. By the time the first pale of morning sunlight came, I had made up my mind.

It was the same room; I woke up from when I returned. The familiar mixture of bourbon, sweat, and smoke bombarded my nostrils making me want to puke on the spot. “Have a seat,” the prison boss pointed to the seat opposite his. Then he motioned for his guards to take their position just behind the entrance. “What’s all with the detours? Tell me about our deal!” I demanded eagerly. I knew it wouldn’t stop him from just picking his new toys. The boss’ smile was never leaving his face, “Eagerness. I like that. You see those handpicked players of yours would be put into fights tomorrow and if one of them loses, our bargain is off.”

He looked back at me with those beautiful chocolate brown eyes, “where were we? Ah, yes. We were talking about your stubbornness.” I was too distracted by what the vile shifter had said. “What was he talking about?” “There are protectors who rent out their cellmates to other inmates for money and food.” “They sound like pimps!” “That’s what they are, and some of these females don’t have a choice. They become the prison whores.” His fingers snapped open the bra and threw it onto the floor. I got hold of his shirt, “You won’t ever do that to me, would you?”

No problem, they take you to hospital and you don't have to pay the bills. Wanna do play sports? All equipment available free of charge. Gym? No monthly fees. You wanna make money fast? Gambling is an option, or you could stab people for someone who has a problem with them. It's like resting for a very long time. I just have no idea how the inmates always have money to pay for privileges but I don't care. If everyone knew prison wasn't so bad, a lot of people would've killed someone by now. I heard footsteps approaching and looked up to see Calvin.

he murmured back. And we were all too glad to keep our date, so we bunked down at the hotel, took note, or didn't take note, of the detail, and were eager the next morning for some hard-bitten haggling. But deep inside, it was that funny feeling in me jabbing me continually with the thought, something like: This ain't business; it was something deeper, something that my fingers, too, could never explain.

I saw him reading a book with his glasses on. He looked handsome. "You're here," he said and glanced at me with a smile. "Obviously?" I said. He stood up and grabbed Rudolph in his arms. He rubbed Rudolph's head, and the cat snuggled itself on Sean's lap. I took all my strength and clenched my fist. I knelt down on the floor in front of Sean. "Please lend me fifty billion dollars," I begged. I know I was pathetic, but I had no other choices left. All the jobs here don't fit me, and the money I will get will never be enough even if it does.

A big soft bed, a bathroom, TV, and other things that would keep him entertained for five years. So for the sake of getting the room he wants, he endured staying in this disgusting cell for a few days. He would have a better life soon. In the promised place, he would have his own servant at his beck and call and he could get what he wants from there. A guard suddenly passed by his cell and threw a newspaper at him. Sometimes, the inmates were given a bit of entertainment such as newspapers or magazines. But it depends if they bribed the guards enough. Today, strangely the guard just give him a newspaper freely.

Austin's calm demeanor in the face of danger was enough to convince everyone of his victory. Brian, who was still at the prison's entrance, shouted, "Bring Barette to the doctors." One of his men was taken by surprise as he explained, "But sir, the inmates aren't allowed to be given access to the medical facilities!" Everyone involved with the prison had already gotten accustomed to seeing corpses being moved out of the prison on the daily. Inmates within the prison were locked up like wild beasts and were denied any basic rights, including the right to receive medical treatment.

Racheal nodded, listening attentively. “So we learned quickly those who were willing to sell it for extra money to teenagers. They called these things other names. They were not fixed. If you knew what the bad guys in that place called their goods, you could walk to the bar and ask for cinnamon and be sold marijuana under the table. Cinnamon could be cigarettes too at the supermarket next door.” Racheal’s jaw dropped. “What do you think Bourbon meant here?” “I don’t know. Asad Achillie is here.” Jade said, looking into the rearview mirror.
