Only a speck of life was left in her body. She stared at herself in horror and in her eyes she could see her reflection. Her eyes were gray and her hair was brown. She was the Badblood girl. "H...help" she choked in pain. Tears fell down on her eyes. Rila just stared at herself in horror. She felt like her stomach was turned upside down. She looked in the distance and saw a tall man with unspeakable ugliness. His face was out of this world. He was holding an ax covered with thick crimson blood.

Sara. My breath caught in my throat as I saw the scene before me. The vibrant color of blood oozing onto the white carpet sent a shiver down my spine, and the metallic scent filled the room, making me dizzy with fear. Her body lay crumpled on the once-luxurious carpet, the rich crimson of her blood seeping into its fibers. Her limbs twisted unnaturally, her face locked in a silent scream. But it was the knife—deep, jagged, and still embedded in her chest—that burned into my mind. The air left my lungs as I took a step forward. “Sara,” I whispered, the word barely audible. My heart clenched as memories of her kindness, her sacrifices, collided with the brutal reality before me.

"I accidentally recorded your pup's blood type as AB when I registered his information last time. The truth is, his blood type is O." Felix's face twisted as he snatched the document from me. An eerie silence descended upon the hall. Everyone knew that all the wolves of the Blackrock pack had type-AB blood, making it impossible for a pup with type-O blood to exist in the pack.

I knew he forgot he had that knife in his hands as I played out everything that happened that day in my head while my Dad and I sat in his truck. Callen dodged quickly, his staff glowing. Two energy forces – holy blood and black blood – collided, exploding into a blinding white orb. Evelyn was thrown back, her back crashing into a glass pane. A container shattered, red blood spilling out like a living river. Callen stepped forward, his voice echoing through the room.

"But first, you need to leave. I don’t want to do that in your presence. I need to take you back to the hospital." "Do it." She said. "Please." "Are you sure?" He asked, and she nodded. Flicking his gaze at the coffin, he went on his knees and opened it. The baby’s skin was pale, and he knew that if he didn’t feed her then, she was going to die. He quickly cut himself with the knife in his hand and trickled his blood over the baby’s mouth. As she drank the blood, he watched as her skin slowly brightened and her eyes changed to Red.

"So I’m going to show them what a real catastrophe looks like." The hunt was no longer about power. It was about the blood spilled twenty years ago. And for the Old Guard, the ghost had finally come home to collect.
