Come back to my family, and let's start over. I looked at the man standing in front of me and almost laughed. There was something I had held onto for a long time. At last, I could finally hand it to him. "Gideon." I placed the little booklet I had been clutching in my palm into his hand. "Open it. See what it is." He froze for a moment before doing as I said and opening the booklet. The instant he saw the names inside, his eyes widened. He spun around and stared at me in disbelief.

Surprisingly, I don't find the idea disturbing. Feeling boredom as it sets in quickly, I make my way over to the bookshelf. I start to peruse the titles and am shocked at what I find. I see the House of Night Series, The Twilight Series, Forbidden Knowledge, Harry Potter Trilogy, and various books on Military Protocols all with black covers. The books are all in good condition too. Not interested in any of the military books I reach for the first book in the House of Night Series. As I take the book over to the couch to settle in, the door swings open.

Gideon questioned as his suspicion increased. “No, this is the book I came to look for actually,” Sarah said as her hand grabbed a book which she showed to Gideon, it was a random health book. “Then she gasped. “I am sorry about the papers, let me quickly arrange them,” she said and turned towards the papers on the desk. "Oh! Let me help you with that then,” Gideon said and strode towards her, his long strides eating up the distance. Together, they gathered the papers that were scattered on the desk, Gideon's fingers brushing against hers as they worked. The touch sent a shiver down her spine. Once they'd collected the papers, Gideon carefully placed them in a drawer and locked it.

Chapter 32: Fight I woke up from the noise that was coming from outside. I looked out the window and there I found a commotion, something is happening that's why I decided to come out. I hurriedly came down from the stairs as I looked outside. I peeked from the inside and there I saw Gideon in the middle of the crowds, the people looked exasperated as they cried kneeling in front of Gideon. I look at Gideon and he is looking at his people worriedly as he doesn't know what to do. What happened?

He asks, “While you think of something to choose, I’m gonna get something. Stay here.” Goldie watches Darryl walk away from him. He stands still for a moment, before looking at the books that surrounded him. He notices a book that is not much bigger than his hand. The cover is simple, with nothing but the illustration of red circles within a circle at the bottom half, and the name “Dante” written on the top half. He picks it up and inspects it, trying to read other words on the back of the book. He was able to process some of the words, but could not understand the whole paragraph.

When my shift ended, I found myself walking toward the corner table where Kael sat, his laptop closed now, a book in his hands. I stopped short when I saw the cover. ‘Knot We Cannot Untie.’ That was the book he was holding. I can't believe that Kael would be reading one of Linda Lively’s books. “You read… this?” I said, the surprise evidently in my voice. Kael looked up, one brow raised. “Why? You think I only read racing magazines and bank statements?” I gave a small laugh. “Chill bro. It’s just… not what I was expecting ”

She is not far enough along to have a bump yet but just knowing is enough to make me a paranoid mess. I will do everything in my power to ensure a future for my wife and child that is as safe as possible. The peace and the alliances have never been more important than they are right now. May the gods have mercy on the souls of anyone foolish enough to attempt anything sinister against my family, my friends, or my people. The End.
