Can’t you see he is feeling depressed?” “Ha! Why would a god feel like that? They don’t have any emotions towards mortals. And that guy, he is only showing it to lure you and keep him.” “Don’t be a jerk. And don’t think it that way cause it’s not. I am going to keep him just because he was pitiful.”

Luckily his books passed the check test and he immediately pulled out a book from his backpack and buried his gaze in it. “Is that one of the books you got yesterday?” “Jesus!” Alex’s book flew out of his hand, his hand flying to cover his mouth as he stared at Seb. He was no longer walking round the class, few meters away from him but was sitting next to him, literally few inches away from him. “Hi,” Seb said, bending over to pick Alex’s book that was laying on the floor. “I didn’t know you were a Christian.” “I’m not,” Alex quickly collected his novel from Seb. “At least not an active one. I don’t go to church- wait, what?!”

"Hello! Welcome in!" I stood in the doorway, looking around the store, stacks, and bookshelves everywhere. Much bigger on the inside. "Hi," I replied, stepping in and letting the door close behind me. It smelled like moldy pages and old dust. The familiarity of it settled my shoulders. "Are you looking for something?" I gulped. "Do you have anything on Christian theology?" The eager older woman nodded, "I sure do. A whole section in the back." She scurried behind the desk and waved an arm to show me to the section. Chapter 24 My eyes were burning from staring at Christian's laptop screen for six hours straight, but I couldn't stop scrolling through supernatural legal databases. “Find anything useful?” Christian asked, setting a mug of coffee next to me along with a stack of ancient-looking books that smelled like dust and old leather.

But sometimes texts from Christian can be much better than job offers. When I open the chat box, I see he's sent me two images, and one voice recording. The grocery store wifi tries to be slow but the images finish loading, and the sight of a shirtless Christian Storm immediately makes me feel like my mouth is drooling. From the picture, Christian has just woken up. His hair is still tousled. His eyes, though cool and sharp, have that sleepy bleariness to them. The lines of his broad shoulders draw my eyes and I feel bad for only wanting to stare at them. Shirtless Christian Storm is always a treat.

I pause, glance over my shoulder to make sure the doorway is clear, then murmur, “Can I ask you something?” “Of course.” “Is Saxon… bossy? You know, in bed?” Her eyes light with amusement. “He’d say no, that he’s just enthusiastic. Why do you ask? Is Kip bossy?” “Just a bit.” “Ooh. Is he all Fifty Shades?” “I haven’t actually read that.” “Oh you should. I learned so much.” She laughs. “Does he have a playroom?” “He has a PlayStation.” “No, I mean that in the book, Christian has a room that he takes Ana to, where he ties her up and does naughty things to her. Whips and paddles and stuff.”

I have a fabulous friend. And if it isn’t obvious by now, the person that I am talking about is Christine Gyamfi. And if you don't know who she is, then read the other book; The Light's Shadow. It's an original book that she wrote herself. I personally didn't read the book, but I'm sure that you will. I mean, why are you reading this then? But that's beside the point. Christine is awesome. She is hilarious, kind, and sweet. The woman also treats everyone around her with respect. She is one of the few people that fuels my faith in humanity.
