He snarled, pushing me farther behind him.
His voice was rich and smooth, and reminded me of the crackling embers in the fireplace. His very presence seemed to warm my skin, chasing away the lingering chill from outside. I found myself shedding my layers quickly, begrudgingly allowing Atlas to help me remove my outer puffy coat. When he spoke, one of the many Fae legends came to mind. Supposedly, the Fae were incredibly beautiful. They were the closest beings to immortality. Though a wound could still kill them, they did not age or fall sick. Their beauty was matched with their otherworldly magic. The memory struck a chord of awe and fear within me. No matter how beautiful the Fae might be,
