Dickson & Daisy’s POV DAISY I woke up early, before the sun. My eyes felt heavy, but I couldn’t sleep anymore. I kept thinking about Rosa. The way she looked. The way she talked to the children. And the way Dickson defended her. He said he was done with her. But part of me wasn’t sure. I walked into the kitchen to make tea. Dickson was already there. “You’re up,” he said. “Couldn’t sleep,” I replied, not looking at him.

She was involved in Tristan’s accident four years ago, so now that she had run out of options, she probably would contact her accomplices. Two days later, at the library… Daisie and Freyja sat next to the window. One of them was getting ready for AP class while the other was scribbling in the notebook. Daisie looked up at Freyja, who had chosen the Drama, Theatre, and Film course. Daisy The library was nothing like I expected. It wasn’t just large, it was overwhelming. Shelves stretched from floor to ceiling, dark wood polished to a quiet sheen, and lined with books that looked older than anything I’d ever seen. Ladders rested against some of them, tall and narrow, like they had been used a thousand times before. The air itself felt different in here, it was still, heavy, and almost sacred. Like this place held things it wasn’t eager to give up.

Well, at least everything seemed to be turning around for them. Having grabbed yet another coffee, I took my food to sit between Marcus on my right and Levi on my left. I watched our children laughing as James pulled out a book from his bag and handed it to Daisy. Daisy looked at the book before putting it in her bag and getting another book out and passing it off to James. “So what's on the agenda for the nerd?” Marcus joked as he looked at me.

I was hungry. I dragged Daisy along with me, so we could get our snacks at the canteen on time before a lot of student get there. Daisy does not Like being in a crowd, she is so shy and quiet. We walked to the canteen with our hand intertwined, we ordered sandwich and a chilled drink. We sat as our usual spot, the last table by the corner of the canteen, one could hardly be seen there. Is like one of the safe place in school.

I said this to make Orkhis feel better and lady June smiled . "Dai.. Daisy " she was totally shy to say my name . She's so cute . now I can die in peace. "Alright, girls, let's get you to bed," Gideon said. "Will you read us a story?" Daisy asks me. "Of course, baby." I kiss the top of her head. I didn't know I could love them this much this quickly. We get the girls to their room and into bed a few minutes into "Green Eggs and Ham," and they are both out. Gideon and I slowly get off the bed and go across the hall to our room.

Victories nobody would ever take for granted again. That morning Daisy was sitting beside Violet's incubator. A blanket draped over her legs. A notebook in her lap. Roman paused. "What are you doing?" Daisy looked up. "Writing." Roman frowned. "You're working." "No." "That looks suspiciously like working." "It's not." Roman remained unconvinced. Daisy sighed dramatically. "I'm making notes." "For?" Daisy smiled softly. "The girls." Roman blinked. "What girls?" Daisy stared. "You have two daughters."
