And now— That version of the night felt like something else entirely. A constructed reality. A carefully placed lie. Ava pressed her fingers lightly against her temples. He is right on my heels, still wearing his pink thong. This can't be real. "Hey, wait. I payed for two hours. You can't leave." He says grabbing my hand and pulling me back. The reflexes kick in and my fist immediately swings right at his face, landing a hard blow on his cheek. Pain shoots through my hand and I grab it. The weird man is on the floor, holding his scrunched up face. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!" He yells and I groan still holding my hand.

Fuck those sacrifices. “No matter what, once in your life, someone will hurt you, that someone will take all that you are, and rip it into pieces and they won’t even watch where the pieces land. The bones realigned perfectly, and the surgeon used minimal hardware.” He gestures to a spot halfway up my leg. “When we talk about shattered bones, it usually means a comminuted fracture—that means it’s broken into several pieces and needs to be reset. I’m not seeing evidence of that here—or you’ve healed spectacularly well.” “Good news,” I echo. First time I’ve heard those words… Mia squeezes my hand. “So, what’s next?”

CRASH. Kaelen was driven vertically into the stone floor of the ring. The sound that followed was grotesque… a wet, heavy thud mixed with a sharp, sickening SNAP-CRACK that echoed through every corner of the silent stadium. Even from this distance, I could see the unnatural twist of the joint, the way his arm hung like a broken branch.

"I'm just glad to see you're well rested after this last week." I point to my mouth and Jessie chokes quietly, "We tried to remove it before I went to sleep. You almost went into respiratory arrest. Your seatbelt cracked one of your ribs and it knicked your lung. It still needs healing before we take it out." I nod lightly. "When can I see the girls," I sign as tears fill my eyes. "Are the girls here," Jessie asks in a choked whisper. "No, but I can have Sarah bring them," my mother says softly and I nod.
