Shadow's Essence

Chapter 51: The Uprising Begins Lord Garrett Blackwood - The Signal The crystal device pulsed three times in rapid succession, its light cutting through the pre-dawn darkness of Garrett's hidden chamber like a blade through silk. After two years of careful preparation, the signal he'd been waiting for had finally arrived.

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The Day She Stopped Waiting

The wind rushed through the open doorway. Rain soaked the floor. The storm was getting worse. Much worse. Then Lily looked outside. And froze. Because someone stood in the rain. A figure. Motionless. Watching the house. God. Not again. Fair. Not another mystery person. Reasonable honestly. Then lightning flashed. And everyone saw him. An old man. Very old. Holding a lantern. Despite the storm. Despite the wind. The lantern remained lit. Impossible. Then the old man spoke. His voice barely louder than the storm.

10 chapters in and I hope it’s second chance book. I love a good “leaving my shitty husband for a better man” plot but sometimes I love a good “I need to get my wife back” plot as well. Sometimes I want to read about how a relationship was pulled back from the brink and I feel this is goi to be it.

Princess Cromwell and Her Six Brothers

Princess Cromwell and Her Six Brothers

There were still some people in Miami and other cities. "Sir Cline said, at a critical moment, as long as the head of the chamber gave a signal, these people would come out to help." The man said quietly, "But Sir Cline didn't say how to give the signal." Amelia looked at the marks behind her and suddenly laughed, "I knew how to send a signal, and I knew how to start them." Each person had a group of business names. This was what Craig left behind. Some of them might have been businessmen, and some might have just looked like businessmen.

The Worthless Ex-Wife's Revenge

The Worthless Ex-Wife's Revenge

But Ethan with a purpose was not a man who stopped because circumstances made the purpose harder, and he had decided we were building a signal today and the fever was not included in that decision. He worked and I worked beside him. I watched him constantly from the periphery of my attention the way you watch something you're afraid to look at directly. The signal was a large X across the open beach — stones, debris, everything dark-coloured and contrast-heavy against the pale sand, positioned in the widest open section for maximum visibility. It took three hours. By the end, Ethan's shirt was dark with sweat and the careful control in his movement had become something he was visibly maintai

The only thing remaining was the signal. The Will spell that fucker placed on him was getting worst, especially when he tried to fight it. Being powerless on the day of signals isn't what he'd opt for, that's a straight path to hell. Death. But the old mysterious man didn't seem to care. "Don't put the blame on me, Forsyth, recollect the profit you'll get after the signals. You'll get to know my truth." Robert walks through the back door towards Forsyth with a bowl in his hand.

Arranged Marriage With The CEO

He asked, eyeing my mouth and eyes turn by turn. “ Clear. ” I nodded. “ But you should have been careful. You could have gotten injured, seriously.“ He glared from close. “ Yeah. I should have but I wasn’t the only one at fault.” I huffed, freeing myself from his hold. “ Of course, It was the man who broke the signal and tried to run you over with his car. “ He taunted. “ He should have at least waited for a moment and let the poor me cross. “ I flayed my hands in exaggeration.

She opened her mouth to argue, then stopped. Somewhere nearby, a bell rang. Not loud. Not ceremonial. Just one clear chime, carried through stone and air. My spine went rigid. Elara noticed. “What is that?” “A signal,” I said. “For what?” I didn’t answer. Because a messenger broke from the edge of the square, a boy, breathless, eyes darting. He didn’t approach us directly. Just slowed long enough to drop a folded scrap of parchment at the feet of a waiting man, then vanished.

They began to address themselves and supported themselves. "There's no mix-up, there's no slip-up… " "Try not to detonate, don't detonate, don't detonate!" "I ask God to favor me and to not allow me to bite the dust." Blare! At the point when the commencement was 0, the signal sound transformed into a long tone. The bomb didn't detonate. "No blast, no blast! We won!" They burst into chuckling. "Ok ah! This is extraordinary, this is incredible! We don't need to kick the bucket!"

Healing with the monster

Healing with the monster

"The Great Voice in the market square died. The screens in the district captain's office turned to black glass. The elders say a curse has traveled up from the south, from the green lands, to punish us. Who are you to shelter in the house of the wires?" I didn't hesitate. I stepped forward, completely ignoring the dagger at his waist, and extended my hand. I wasn't holding a weapon; I was holding a copy of The First Signal. The black ink was still slightly damp, catching the harsh glare of the midday sun. The scout lowered his blade slightly, his eyes shifting from my face to the paper. He hesitated, then took the sheet. His fingers brushed against mine, and for a second, I felt a faint, res
