Uh, gosh I'm so embarrassed. My hand stopped hitting his chest when his right hand grabbed my hand and brought it to his chest. Made me able to feel his heart beating faster than usual. Without realizing it, my lips parted into a smile, realizing that it wasn't just my heart that always beat abnormally when I was close to him. But Everett also experienced something similar. Right now his heartbeat is racing so fast, it's the same as my heartbeat which is currently jumping up and down erratically. She turns to me smiling. "Everything is okay Mr Hale. Apart from the bruises on her face, she is fine." I am too shocked to respond. I guess I haven't gotten used to the idea of being a father. The heartbeat is strengthening. Not to normal, not to healthy, but moving in that direction.

It's awful, the stiff body, the mind and the mixed feelings of fear and relief. I want to tell that to Bash. I want to tell him that I am fine.
