Jess held one of the thickest books I had ever seen; it was a large brown book with golden decals swirled throughout the cover. In the front of the book, in a silvery oval was a white infinity symbol I didn’t quite recognize and then written in white above the symbol read: Book of Magic. “Woah…” I breathed, staring at the book. It was real.

He hands me the book and I look it over before opening it. “I think this will be of some help to you, I can help you with focus and direction.” I look at a few pages of the book, it has detailed accounts and explanations on how to fulfil different ‘desires’. It shows intricate symbols, circles and some of the symbols look like they are glowing. “What language is this?” Zylith asks and I look up at her. “What do you mean, it’s English.” Sure some of the words were difficult and new but Zylith was far from dull.

I loosened the thread that tied the paper together and gently unwrapped whatever lay beneath the paper. It was a book. The book was certainly strange because I had never come across a book like this before. I bought the candle closer and tried to read the name of the book. But it was inscribed in symbols I did not understand. I opened the thick back of the book and reveal the pages inside. I gasped at the illustration depicted on the page. I couldn't read the book, but the illustrations were quite detailed and as I flipped from page to page, the full story began to form in my head.

A book. I pulled it out and looked it over. It was a huge black covered book with intricate writing on it. I opened the first page and was immediately disappointed, it was written in a language I did not understand. I looked over at the other pages in the book and was mesmerised by the writing and even drawings that were on it. This meant something and I needed to look it over. I looked at forest as he sat on his haunches watching me the entire time. I stood up and looked down at myself. We both needed a very thorough bathing.
