He used to say my bob haircut hurt his eyes, that I walked around all day with a blank expression and a sickly yellow face, like something not quite human. The insecurity that haunted me for years had his name written all over it. Now, looking at him again, he had slicked-back hair, a bloated face, and a protruding beer belly that even his oversized suit couldn't hide. Years had passed, but he was just as unpleasant as ever. I didn't catch the eye of most because I was known to be wolfless and the fact that wasn't the case actually made me giggle a little thinking about it. And it really suited with him, he's like a terror teacher with those grumpy features.

Lila POV I did the little I could do and went to bed but couldn't sleep because Damian brought him back to the sitting room and I don't understand why he's scared of leaving us together. So instead of staying there in anxiety I walk back into the sitting room and found Damian passed out on the couch already, so I sit down on the sofa beside Nico. He’s sleeping, and at peace right now, even with his bruised and beaten face. He wasn't putting on glasses or suits rather he’s wearing a tee shirt and I didn’t notice it before, but I am now and have never seen him in a tee shirt. It makes him look younger more like his age.

He stared down at me in satisfaction before sighing. "Just what I needed," he said, his hands falling to his side before he faced Miguel. "See you two around." And with that, Daniel sauntered away. My feet were glued to the ground, clasping the varsity jacket— with the surname, Mayhem embroidered behind it— around my shoulder. When Miguel's eyes flitted to me, they started to glisten, causing him to look away and hide them. He ran his hand on his buzz-cut hair, pursing his lips tight as if hesitating to utter.

Before we could understand what it was doing, it had submitted itself to the flame that was blazing on the top of the Allexart stand. “No!” I screamed as I saw the flames blaze higher, engulfing the beam of light in its inferno. Tears hazed my vision as I realized who the beam of light was. “Why did you do this? Why….” I whispered as the tears broke the dam and flowed freely down the cheeks.

He muttered and left the room. When the sound of his footsteps disappeared, Lily took the object out and observed it. It was a gold badge with dragon totem engraved on it. Suddenly, she noticed that the side door wasn’t closed. Instead, it had been cracked open the whole time. She peered in, spotting a beautiful woman with long, silver hair paralyzing in the bed, staring back at her. Her eyes sparkled when she saw the golden badge in Lily’s palms.

With one final thought of gratitude towards her aunt for her unwavering support, Aqua surrendered to the darkness, allowing its gentle embrace to carry her away from the tempest of her thoughts and into the peaceful realm of dreams.
