Jake’s [POV] Déjà vu. That’s what it felt like as I turned underneath my warm sheets as little rays of sunlight peeping through the cracks in the blinds. I was still groggy, just coming out of a heavy sleep, but I couldn’t bring myself to think because there was this feeling that engulfed me. Everything was perfect. I could feel the blissful contentment that came with knowing everything in your world was in perfect order. I could feel her next to me, and the feel of her body curved in next to mine was heaven.

The fluke had awarded them pretty good. And the bet was made to know how long Nyx or her twin will find out about the deceit; a past time. Nyx run her eyes on her body. “Shit. The trick really worked. I looked like a beggar!” she hissed, her anger rushing to her head; burning it. “Thank you.” Jek is proud. He haven't hone his ability to create illusions to the fullest, but he is already doing great. “I did a really good job. It is just like when you were so angry on that girl; that was an illusion too.”

BACK TO PRESENT Emmanuella finally left me to my own peace and once she left I decided to see if I could get a well deserving rest before someone comes up. She rolled on the huge bed with a wide gray blanket spread over her body. The light in the room rained on her beautiful face though it was not morning the brightness of the room said otherwise. She rolled her fragile body to the end of the bed with her eyes still closed. Her black long hair covered her face. She struggled for a while before she was able to open that eyes of hers and clear the sleep off her sight. She scanned the room, the white curtains, the white sofa, and the full-length glass window that displays a very beautiful view of the city were not in line with the familiar things in her mind records.

Was this a dream or reality? “I will stay, sweetheart. The doctor’s here.” Iris released him reluctantly. She could sense the doctor checking her and injecting her with a sedative. The dream ended as she went into a deep slumber. When she opened her eyes, it was evening, and there was no sign of Maddox anywhere. He had gone with the dream. Only the promise he had made in her dream replayed in her mind like a broken record. It wasn’t surprising. Dreams were never meant to materialize- especially the reckless ones. Maddox was a dream, and he could never be hers in this life.
