I jumped in front of the door to try and get the Hunter that was coming in but he was standing further back then I thought and I couldn't reach him from where I was. He already had his gun raised and a menacing smile on his face. He chuckled right before he was about to pull the trigger, but then he was taken by surprise from the side. Edward had snatched him in his mouth and killed him. I let out a breath, extremely happy that I was still alive.

He was strict with Chris and Zand, especially when it came to their training, and he made sure they both sparred with Andy every say. It makes me see Hunter in a new light too, he held his own against a dragon and they were so evenly matched, there was never a clear winner. A lot of things are beginning to make more sense now. Hunter is Celestial Alpha blood, it’s hardly surprising he could take on an unshifted dragon and live to tell the tale. Every time Gabe, Christian, Zander, Gerald or I sparred with him he would wipe the floor with us within minutes.

I heard someone say. "I repeat myself, Karen is not a Hunter." Oscar barked at them. "She is the legitimate daughter of Giles' only son, John Hunter," someone explained. "Then she is of no use to you. A child that was dumped and forgotten does not count." Oscar said with confidence. "Not when she is the last descendant. If we kill her, we will succeed at eradicating Hunter's bloodline," he said, trying to convince Oscar to hand me over. "And John Hunter?" Oscar asked.

Chapter 9 We both slid into the booth, sitting across from Deacon’s brother, Hunter. He was very good looking and the total opposite of Deacon. Hunter had shaggy, black hair, and piercing blue eyes like ice. Unlike Deacon’s broody demeanor, Hunter was very outgoing and happy to be around other people. He was certainly a lot taller than Deacon by a good five inches. We had come to learn that their parents had wanted Hunter to get in early to surprise him, but with him staying at my house, no one was home to let him in.

His gaze fell on his father holding the drawing, and for a split second, his eyebrows furrowed. Hunter yawned, stretching as he lifted himself off the chair. "I’ve been meaning to give you that," he muttered, his voice heavy with sleep. The Sheriff held up the drawing, studying it closely before narrowing his eyes. "Who is she?" he asked, his tone more intense, his instincts already kicking in. Hunter rubbed his neck, still trying to shake off the weariness. "She’s the woman who trapped Eden and his family in the grotto," he explained, his voice steady but distant as if recalling painful memories. "I thought it might help."

"You know what Daisy, I will leave the offer open to you…think of the whole lot of things you can do with twenty billion dollars." Wade Roberto's voice was laced with concern. "I mean…your Dad can be the founder and CEO of the great Hunter's Empire, but imagine the feeling of knowing that you turned a billionaire without Daddy's help." With that said, Wade Roberto dismissed Daisy Hunter. As she left, Wade Roberto crossed his legs on the mahogany and smirked. "Daisy Hunter will come around, I'm certain of it." He whispers to himself. Moments later…. Daisy Hunter is packing her bags to retire home.

Evelyn hunter "Evelyn, it has been years, and you are still as beautiful as ever." Jayer complimented her, hugging her. They have known each other since they were young and were known lovers during that time. It so happened she dumped him for Patrick Hunter back then, and he found a beautiful jewel instead. Miriam. She was the best he could have So that's why Miriam hated her.

I gave him a gentle push forward. “Go to her. She needs you.” He hesitated and I could feel the fear pouring off of him in waves. “I need her, too, but what if I am like my father? Obsessing over a woman to the point of hurting her?” I tilted my head as I studied him. “Your father? We don’t know who your father is. We were told he was a hunter that attacked your mother.” He shook his head and stuck his hands in his pockets. “That’s where you’re wrong, Falcon. My father’s name was Vincent. He’s who attacked my mother, not some nameless and faceless hunters.”

Another detective complained loudly about paperwork. The organized chaos wasn’t comforting to say the least. It merely reminded me that the world continued spinning regardless of what was happening inside my head. "Morning, Adler." I looked up. Detective Harris stood beside my desk holding two coffees. "I bought one by mistake." "You don't drink cappuccino." "I know that." "So you bought the wrong one?" "I did." He placed it on my desk anyway. I looked at him. "You want something." "A little." He said. "I knew it." I muttered, he laughed. "You're getting predictable." I told him with a shake of my head. "I hope not."

I sucked in a breath and nodded. He was right. The outline was nothing compared to the shading as he colored in the design… which I still had yet to see. I flinched at the pain. The feeling was more annoying than actual pain. It was like a constant stinging or burning that never seemed to end as it dragged across my skin over and over again. It felt like talons were digging into sun burnt flesh, already scorched and in need of reprieve. Now and then, he wiped away the ink and blood but always returned with his head lowered in stoic form. His face was a wall of complete concentration, hand perfectly steady. Maybe that’s why he was such a great hunter. Firm. Stable.
