BLAZE* "A dream I had about you and me a couple of months ago," I said, and Lyra gasped next to me. "You, you had a dream about us," Lyra asked, and she sat up, with surprise written all over her face. "I call it a dream, but it was so vivid, and it felt so real. Researchers call it lucid dreaming, I think. I'm so glad that you are back. I've been working myself to the bone to keep from going nuts," I said.

“Ahhh, fine! Fine! Whatever. If you don’t want to tell me who he is, just say so~” Nexus laughed, softer now, like wind chimes in the desert dusk. But then, he leaned in again, as though sharing the punchline of the universe. “He’s a powerful wolf spirit who will call himself Theo a few years from now.” All of a sudden, the world around her trembled—like an old filmstrip glitching between frames. Nexus’s warm, serene smile began to fade, like sunlight sinking into water. The shrine, the sky, the sand beneath her—all of it peeled away, pixel by pixel, memory by memory.

“I’m normally not so evasive, but I need to be right now.” She bit her lip. “Tell me how to work this—what is this we’re doing?” “I really don’t know the technicalities of it. I just know how to do it.” He shrugged. “We can only do it with others that have the ability, though.” She sat back again, unable to think being that close to him. “And we can do it awake or asleep?” She already knew the answer to both. “Yes.” She frowned. “So, you can just pop into my head whenever you want?”

No noise of any kind broke the complete stillness of the woods. He’d never been aware while dreaming before, but it had been a strange night all around, so what was one more weird thing to add to the pile? He remembered hearing someone say that if you could lucid dream, you could make yourself do things, like breathe underwater, or fly. He mused over it a moment, then took two running steps before leaping into the air . . . and falling to the ground with a thump. Twigs and leaves dug into his cheek as he fell on his face. “What are you doing?”

I believe I have explained it above. After fighting for my dear life, my body aches all over when I wake up from my lucid dream. I never knew that physical capabilities are related between reality and dream. Though I heard somewhere that if you die in your lucid dream, you'll die in real life. I'll need to improve my stamina somehow. Which was why... I started personal stamina training on my own, while getting myself involved with one of the martial arts clubs in my college, judo.

Diana's voice brings me out of my sleep. I open my eyes to darkness, the only light coming from the moon. She looks at me with concern. "How the hell were you flying and sleeping at the same time?" She asks. I laugh a little. "My parents taught me, it's similar to what humans call lucid dreaming," I tell her. "Why do you do it?" "Well I just now did it so I could stay flying, but normally I do it because you can control what you dream about. I use it to relive memories with my parents, or if I forget something it helps me to remember," I explain.

My heart was beating so hard, it felt like it was trying to claw out of my ribs. I squeezed my eyes shut and forced a deep breath. Maybe this was just a memory. Or maybe, I looked down at my hands. My fingers were trembling. Okay… deep breath. Count them. “One, two, three, four, five…” I counted aloud. “Six, seven, eight, nine, ten…” I stopped. Then I looked again. “Eleven…” I whispered. My voice cracked. “Twelve?” “What the actual...” I gasped. Okay. Okay, definitely dreaming. I had twelve goddamn fingers. Yep. This was not real. Lucid dreaming. Or a nightmare. Or a vision. Hell, maybe Lucien's ghost was screwing with me, I don’t know.

Personally I haven’t experienced lucid dreams or false awakenings but the one I have most times is Sleep Paralysis and that scares the shit out of me, like why the fuck does my body have to scare me before I forcefully wake up. That’s so weird.

After what happened at the hallway I decided to go to the library and rest but not to read, I can't read with all these mess on my head ,all this frustration is getting a better of me these days, maybe it's the frustration of the scholarship that I applied which e-mailed me asking to pay a specific amount (five hundred thousand naira) for scholarship advancement and the worst part is that I don't even know where I would get the money from,am not even sure if it's legit or scam.
