The truth was, it felt like all of those things at once.
She paused, staring at the blinking cursor, realizing she was still figuring that part out. It was definitely different, but in some ways, it was a lot the same—like the first night she and Freddy went out and played darts and pool. There was comfort in the familiar games, in the laughter and late-night snacks, even if everything else around her had changed.
She texted Freddy: hey, what’s up, where’d you go this early?
Freddy replied: You don’t remember me waking you up? You mumbled something about being a vampire and not being able to go out in the sun.
