She shrugged, a little awkwardly. I smiled back, wanting to put her at ease. “Thank you, Sie. I really appreciate it.” We flicked through some new books and papers while we waited for the pizza to arrive. They were all much the same – long, winding documentation of vampire sightings from the Victorian era, many of which were clearly allegories for something else, like impudent women or the fear of industrialisation.

“Morning!” From the corner of his eye, Frank saw the ivory sculpture still sitting in the middle of the kitchen island. He turned to face it and put both hands on either side of it, palms flat on the counter. “I guess we’ll need to get some floating shelves. I don’t know why, there is something creepy about that sculpture, but I like it.” “It’s coming from a very old family of vampires. I’ll introduce you to them eventually. There are a lot of people I wouldn’t trust around you or want to know about you, but I trust them. They’re good people.”

Confirming the presence of no one outside I walked to the end of the cabin where there was the huge painting of my grandfather and the statue of a hand fist was at the side of the painting on the drawer. I pulled the statue and the strange movement was felt in the room when the huge painting of grandfather motioned to the right of the wall and the golden door was visible. ~~~ Amaya His eyes no longer had those pretty green tint in them. They were now a bright glowing red colour. His teeth now contained a pair of sharp fangs ready to bite through your skin anytime. He wasn't just my kidnapper anymore. Nor my stalker. He was now my vampire. This realization hit me like a train. My feet were glued to one place not daring to move. My breathing had stopped a while ago. The beast in front of me must've caught on to my nervousness because a small pang of hurt shot across his face but quickly vanished.

Cent saw lengthy sewn marks from both of his cheeks to his humongous-size mouth as if his face was being connected by a mere thread. Work. Alone. Master. No noise. Five words made Cent realized that her father hated being disturbed. Well, I think I know why Frankenstein was kept by my father. Since I eat foods from the Ambivalent World, he got Frankenstein for me seeing that the latter is wearing an oversized chef uniform.

When I looked up, fear grabbed me even though I wasn't as s aref as others. Why? Because I'd seen that before. His eyes were bright yellow, has pointed ears, shallow cheeks, single chin, and grey, scaly skin and a pale skin revealing his green veins. He opened his mouth to reveal two upper curved fangs and two lower smaller. Screams came from right around me. I closed my eyes to drown their voices and try to think about why this person would be appearing here all over again. "Open your eyes Bella" his voice called out, gently as he lightly touched my chin.

When we reached Alex and Talia, they both got up. “Congrats, Wulfric.” Alex put out his right hand to Blake to shake, and I had to do a double take when I noticed his pinky was missing and the skin was raised in pinkish-red rings around his other fingers, as if he’d been cut and the wound never fully healed. I didn’t even know it was possible for a werewolf to scar. “What happened to your hand?” Blake asked, clearly noticing the same thing right before he took it. “Lost a finger.” Alex gave a sheepish smile.

He was captivated, staring at this beautiful human. She had big green eyes, long thick lashes, luscious red lips and long dark hair. Hair that was pulled back in a half-hearted bun and the freckles across her forehead only accented her paleness. She looked like a mermaid, like something or someone you read about in a book. And even dressed in just her uniform, she looked more tempting than any female vampire he had ever set his eyes on. Every other thought flew right out of his head. Her scent teased his senses, threatening to overpower his manners. "Are you gonna take it?" the human asked, once again interrupting his thoughts.

I asked, frowning. Frank grinned now, clearly enjoying the moment where he knew something I didn't. "Just some... light reading I dug up in the town's archive. It's all about the local legends... the ones you were interested in." He leaned forward, his eyes bright with excitement. "Turns out there's more to those stories than we thought." From my peripheral, I could pick up the little twitch in Damien’s jaw, a subtle shift that spoke volumes. Frank flipped the book open, revealing a faded illustration of a massive wolf with glowing eyes beneath a full moon. Three words stood out among the scrawled, decaying text:

Eventually the electricity stopped, and the pictures began flickering again. I breathed heavily through the pain, forcing the tears to keep away. Just as I was able to catch my breath, the pictures stopped again on another grotesque image of a dead wolf. Only this time, the wolf was hanging upside down from a pole. Its bottom half was that of a wolf, but the top half, the arms and chest, was human. The human head sat on a spike next to the body, only it had large fangs poking out of its open mouth. It was gross, sad, and scary. It made me want to cry again. I closed my eyes tight and tried to shake my head.
