Bared To You
Even the dog doesn’t like me.
“I don’t think he likes me,” I whispered to Max.
“Yeah, he does,” Max whispered back. His lips brushed my ear, making my knees weak. “His bark means hello.”
I shot him a skeptical look. “You speak dog language now?”
“Yeah.” He grinned smugly, like he was dead serious.
“Right,” I drawled. “Hello, Maximus. How do you do?”
To my utter shock, Maximus lifted a paw. I yelped and jumped back, which only made Max laugh out loud.
