His eyes went wide, and he started grabbing at his neck, frantically trying to breathe. Spider moved forward, trying to help him. I wished there were a spider as large as the web on his hand, one that could bite him and leave him dead on the ground. Suddenly, he cried out, flinging his hand around, shouting about pinchers as big as teeth. He all but forgot Snake was still struggling to breathe. Ghost was next. I imagined him as pale and see-through as the name I’d given him. When he reached for Snake, his hands passed straight through him. He tried again and again, the same result each time. There was genuine fear on his face when he turned to me.

The sympathy that had filled the room disappeared. Now people looked at Richard with suspicion. Disgust. Unease. "No..." Richard's eyes turned red. "No. Selena... you're joking, right?" But I almost jumped out of my seat when I saw something I was afraid to see emerge from the darkness. It was cloaked and it was not human! It floated in the air and seemed to have black smoke surrounding its body. Its hand is boney and shit! This is a ghost! It has red eyes that glow in the darkness and it's not just one, but many and they collide with the barrier that surrounds us that we just noticed. But I can hear their growls and I can sense their intent to harm. Every time I saw the barrier shaking, my fur rose even more.
