She’d spent the last month making his life miserable. “How often has she called the office?” Damien had blocked her from his cellphone. “Oh, not much… Only every afternoon like clockwork. She doesn’t believe that you aren’t here. I’m just waiting for her to show up in person and force me to pull out my pepper spray.” There was way too much glee in his assistant’s voice. “Trisha, at least for now, stay calm and don’t get arrested… Please… I need you there to hold the fort for me.”

“I mean yes.” “I mean I do want you. I'm just in shock.” She paused still looking in my eyes. “Just because it wasn’t the fairy tale meeting, I always dreamed of doesn’t mean I don’t want this. I Want you.” Moving her hands between us gesturing her and I. A flood of relief washed over me. “I never knew people of our kind had powers like you two.” Heather added. I breathed a sigh of relief. I gave her a hug and held her tight. Finally, I get to hold my mate I said to myself. Why did I ever want to hold off on this?

“I can only imagine how sore you must be. I have some ibuprofen that I can give you for the pain, if you want it.” She shakes her head. “I can't take it.” “Why not?” He frowns. “Oh, duh. Of course you wouldn't want to take any pill that the stranger holding you hostage offers you. I am a dumb ass. Of course you would be worried about-”

Just to inhale the smell of him would probably chase away some of my demons, but I don’t feel like pretending over the weekend when I know I will have to come Monday morning. It’s been hard to avoid my dad when I’ve had to leave my room, but his drunkenness hasn’t been so bad to where he is in the mood to hit. Physically at least. I still got words thrown at me, and that hasn’t helped my mood any. It’s Sunday evening, and I’m writing in my journal when I hear the chirp of my phone, letting me know I have a text coming through. My heart starts to gallop, and I get butterflies in my stomach as I reach for my phone and see that it’s Blake.

This man, this love, this indescribable connection that isn't but is. Whatever tomorrow will bring, I hold on to that. I hold on to him. And pray it's sufficient.

Zora and I will meet and our presence might be awkward or something. But there is nothing I can do. We need to finalize the deal today. I won’t let personal matters interfere with whatever we are doing today. I stood up from my bed and prepared for the big day ahead. I was done, so I ate breakfast and left. Heading to Zora’s company I called her about my arrival. After three attempts she finally picked up. We both greeted each other formally and I decided to ask. “About the release, the date is today, so are you in your office?” I asked and there was silence for a while.

I turn around in his arms, giving him a hug, before I turn back around. I missed him today, and while I'm happy to be at the concert, I'm also happy to be with him. My phone is in my hands, to record my favorite parts and to get the pics I plan to put on my social media later. Holding the phone out, I turn the camera around. Holden and I don't have many pics together, and I'm not going to waste an opportunity. "Smile for me." He gives me a wide one, showing off the dimples I hardly ever get to see.

THE NEXT DAY AVIANA POV When I woke up this morning, I only had one thing on my mind, THE DATE. Tonight I had a date with the one man that has not been able to leave my mind since the moment I first saw him. That clouded my mind with needs, wants and fantasies. Lord knows I didn't need another man right now, not after my ex.

Elysia Alice smiled at him. Assistant Adonis pretended to be miserable: "Today is my last day here, Miss Elysia Alice. Am I not sad at all? Oh, I'm so sad oh oh ..."
