How Many Words Should A Chapter Have Novels & Stories

I made this chapters like this so it would be easier for you to unlock them with less coins, in case short chapters don't really interest you. You can just bear with me.

I am trying to be consistent on my posts for you guys so we can really get into the good stuff! P.s I do not choose the amount the chapters cost, so if they are pricy I apologize for that too but I try to keep my chapters around 2k words but if I need to for my readers I can try to break them up. But sometimes, it's depressing to think I cant never be enough for this field. I leaned on my chair and stared at the ceiling as I clicked the last word of the draft. I don't know if I should continue this. I don't have a proper outline and I can only write a thousand words per chapter which is unusual of me because I usually write three to four thousand words per chapter. I just couldn't find the write words to exprss how I feel. Or maybe, no words could define the thoughts I want to substantiate.

Hi there, readers! I have a question I would like to ask all of you. If you've read any of my previous books, you'll note that my chapters aren't really that long. I've wanted to keep these chapters in short bursts like I did with Nikolai and Dimitri's book, but I am finding that there's just too much happening with Umiko and Fenriz that it is impossible to keep the chapters short. The reason why I used to keep my chapters below 2k words is because the more words I write per chapter, the more you pay to unlock them.

I like making my chapters at least 3k words because I pack a lot into one chapter and I am unable to do that with a word limit of 1500-2k (to keep my chapters affordable I need to keep them between that word count). This story is dragging on because I'm trying to figure out how to keep it at a good pace while also keeping the chapters short and sweet. I'm afraid I'll either make the story too fast or as I am making it now, too slow. I am unable to find a healthy balance and this story is starting to become more of a burden than a joy like it originally is supposed to be.

Later, I would be able to feel proud that I wrote something about my country’s local myth (screw inconsistencies and lack of information which I patched up with my own imagination). I’m guilty so let me just proceed to answering questions that I know some have in mind. - *How many chapters would The Ascension have? Can’t say for sure, but I estimate, it would be between 200-300. The chapters of this story are long anyway, I believe I would be able to cover everything that needed to be covered with that number of chapters.

Note: The following chapters' word counts will decrease dramatically by 500 words. This change is due to a realization that have dawned upon me.
