[katalina] I’m with Hunter now. We’re taking the route back home. My body is aching like I’ve been hazed by a fraternity. On our way home, Hunter was so serious on the road. He won’t believe me when I confessed that Bernard was just a fictional character in the book I was reading before. He didn’t know about my past. Nor he deserves to know. Of course, prior to I became a researcher and writer in one, reading pocket novels are my pastime. It helps me to escape the cruel world.

"Enough," he growls. The Archivist snarls. "You're out of bounds, Hunter." He ignores her, turning to me. "Get up. Unless you want to be a footnote." The static recognizes him. Not his face-his *essence*. He smells of blood and static, like me. "Who are you?" I demand. He sheathes his blade. "Someone who's read your story. And *hates* the ending." --- **The Hunt**

The fuck? “Isn’t that what you want? What do you expect from murdering all the people around me?” Hunter doesn’t reply. His silence is beginning to kill me too. I try to move away from him, yet he doesn’t let me go. Instead, he applies force behind my head to press my face into his chest, which makes his fragrance stronger. That leathery, woody scent, meant to pull at every woman’s heartstring; that sings the melodies of the coochie, comes to me too, nipples hardening underneath my clothes as tingles spread through my body.

Attention Hunter's Revenge is the sequel to the book 'The Mark'. It is highly recommended to read this after reading 'The Mark' for better understanding. Hunter's Revenge can be read as a stand-alone book, but I do not recommend it. I will not be providing insight to characters from 'The Mark'. So in order to properly enjoy the reading experience, I recommend not reading Hunter's Revenge without reading 'The Mark' first. I promise you won't regret reading it.

"I'll bring you some tomorrow," I promised. "And maybe some different books. What do you like to read when you're not stuck in a medical bed?" "History, mostly. Military strategy. Occasionally a good thriller." He paused. "Nothing romantic. Please." "Noted," I laughed. "Though you might change your mind when Odette visits." Hunter's expression shifted, becoming more guarded. "Is she... I mean, did anyone tell her about what happened?"

My one choice would decide the fate of this island. I felt a strange feeling holding me and could hear the screams. It was a calling. Someone was begging me for help. Tugging at my hair, I peeked inside the book. In Pages, a lady seemed to be working on a design with her child wrapped against her back. The little one with shiny eyes was dreaming while holding her mom tightly. I could feel the warmth of her smile. Nerves get on me when I put my hand on the page. The light penetrated my body. Within moments, I felt a drastic change in my surroundings.

What excuse did the people have for being here? Shaking my head, I put my arms on my knees and noticed the scratch on the back of my hand. I got it today when we were hunting the Candir. Canis proles, or the descendant of dogs, who appeared to be a mixture of a golden retriever and a polar bear. When I tried to avoid the huge paws, my hand hit the bike stand. It had hurt a lot, but it was better than being caught by those snow-white beasts. Especially since his companion was lurking right behind it. I knew the Venator's job was dangerous, but would I really get injured every time I hunted? Even if it was just such small scratches?

This question was asked by Dani. “I'm planning to let the police investigate. When they catch whoever is behind the killings, I'll swoop in and make sure he gets a long jail term.” Nick promised. This time, he was heckled by none other than Trent. “That is not our way! The way of the lycanthropes involve blood and revenge! The hunter must pay!” Trent shouted, sounding like a zealot. Nick massaged his temple and wondered why Trent always had to be a pain in the butt.

They stopped before me, the engines coming off one after the other. Henrique Crimson Sparrow took off his helmet, his short strawberry blonde visible under the full moon's light. He had a scar running down his chin. He smiled, stepping off his bike. “You nuts have a death wish, Xavier? Coming here alone?” I smiled back, a cold smile devoid of any humor. “Who says I’m alone?” Henrique Crimson Sparrow looked confused, and looked around the space. Henrique followed my movements with his eyes. Then, the forest came to life.

My stomach dropped. "What?" He nodded. "I hired investigators to find you after you dared to run from me that morning. It took them a week to find you." Something was slamming hard against my rib cage in a really violent way. I knew what it was. My heart. "I found out who you were—Matteo Leone, a twenty three year old bisexual man, living in your father's house like a prisoner." He leaned forward slightly. "I learned everything about you—your urm... useless family, and your situation within hours of funding you."
