EYE SAW YOU

Renel Gomez
Acquaintance Party and some students already at the center of the hall. Dahan-dahang tumingin si Leighton Wajeeh sa kanan niya kung nasaan ang isang babae. "Eun-ji... M-May I d-dance with you?" he stuttered. With a sweetest smile he's ever seen, the girl answered, "Sure, Waj!" Right after she accepted his hand, they then walked towards the center of the hall. "Alright, on my cue, wear your masquerade mask!" the host suddenly announced nung nakita niyang marami nang nasa gitna. Matapos nilang hinanda ang mask, the host then muttered, "Mask on! Music, maestro!" Romantic song then played as they wore their masks. Slowly, Leighton Wajeeh puts his hands on Nikolina Eun-ji's waist while she put hers on his shoulders. "E-Eun-ji, I..." sabi ni Leighton habang unti-unting tumingin sa labi ng babae. Leighton's heart pounded fast. He is wanting this moment to come. Eun-ji just stared at him. With that, he stared at her eyes... deeply. "I like y---" Ngunit, hindi niya natuloy ang kaniyang mga salita. Leighton's mouth gaped open and his eyes suddenly widened. Napaatras siya dahilan upang mapatigil sila sa pagsasayaw. This can't be... "Waj, what's wrong?" Eun-ji innocently asked. She tried to reach him ngunit umiwas si Leighton sa kaniya. His hands and lips trembled while still looking at the woman's face covered with mask, highlighting her eyes. Those eyes... Those eyes that brought him trauma for how many years... Similar to the eyes who killed his father!

"He saw me when no one did"

Somewhere between staying silent and screaming for help… she existed. Seventeen-year-old Maren has mastered the art of disappearing in plain sight. Haunted by past trauma, locked in a toxic relationship she can't escape, and drowning under the pressure of school and a world that never cared to understand her, she begins to wonder if life is even worth staying for. No one sees her pain—until he does. The new boy, Kade, has his own shadows. He’s blunt, observant, and completely unafraid to call her out—making him an instant enemy. But when he overhears a moment no one was meant to witness, he realizes the truth: the girl everyone overlooks is barely holding on. As Kade steps deeper into her shattered world, their connection becomes a lifeline. But secrets run deeper than he imagined, and when Maren goes missing, no one believes she’s worth finding—except him. Fighting time, silence, and the lies that built her cage, Kade refuses to give up. Because sometimes, saving someone means proving they were never invisible at all. A heartbreaking, haunting, and ultimately hopeful story about survival, truth, and what it really means to be seen.

At first I was a bit confused by the different characters appearing all at once. I will like to suggest if the author could create a scene break to signify a change in the scene, maybe a( ***) in the middle will be just find. Above all, I enjoy reading the book. Keep up the good work!

LOVE ME LIKE A CURSE

LOVE ME LIKE A CURSE

> “Stay still, Little Thorn… I want to taste you slowly.” His voice was velvet and ruin. His mouth, a weapon. And I—fool that I was—leaned closer. Before death wore a suit and called itself a lover, I used to believe in beauty. Before the blood. Before the runes. Before I painted the image that killed my parents—I believed my art could save me. Now I know better. I was just weeks from graduating when the painting came to me like a fever. I didn’t choose it. I didn’t plan it. My hands moved, possessed, dragging symbols I’d never seen and a face I’d never forgotten—his. Eyes red as wine. A crown pierced with thorns. And a girl in the center… me. Offering herself. I signed it with a mark I didn’t recognize. I sold it to a stranger. And days later, my parents were dead—no wounds, no reason, just... gone. The police said stress. I say fate. Now I’m being hunted by a world I didn’t know existed. Vampires with ancient courts and older grudges. Symbols that whisper in my blood. And Lucien D’Aragon—the vampire who says I summoned him with my brushstroke. That I belong to him. He says I’m his prophecy. His ruin. His Little Thorn. But I’m not just prey. Something is waking in me. Something hungry. Something I was never meant to survive. If I give in, I lose everything. If I fight, I might finally learn the truth. About my art. About my bloodline. About what really happened that night. And why he keeps whispering that I was painted for ruin... but made for him.

I Saw the Comments — Now He’s Finished

I Saw the Comments — Now He’s Finished

On our first wedding anniversary, my husband came home with a woman who was six months pregnant. He introduced her as his cousin, someone who had fallen on hard times, and asked me to take care of her. I was just about to agree when fragments of imaginary commentary floated through my mind: [She's just my 'cousin'. Uh-uh, that's a cliche.] [Poor supporting female character! A maid by day, the husband's bedwarmer by night.] [But she totally deserved it! If she hadn't broken up the main couple, they'd have a whole soccer team of kids by now!] Wait—what? Supporting female character? Me? And what's this about breaking them up? So now these two get to cheat under my roof, and somehow I'm the villain? Before I could process it all, my husband was already dragging her luggage inside. "Alice doesn't like fried food," he said matter-of-factly. "And nothing too salty or spicy. Make sure you keep that in mind when you're cooking. "Oh, and pregnant women love sweets. Go out now and buy a cherry cake. The one from that bakery in the suburbs."

She is also the mother of fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. Adrian, who has long missed her, is no longer the prideful, arrogant man he once was. Trembling, he clutches the hem of her dress and pleads, "Anna, please come back. I'll treat your children as if they were my own." But Sienna flings his hand away and brushes off the spot he touched. A mocking smile curves on her red lips as she replies coldly, "They already have a father. There's no need for you to pretend."
