, they cannot later see them. They cannot later realise that they are following her. She will get suspicious, and she may run again. If she knows somebody is following her, she will escape. I do believe it. She is clever. I also believe that her grandfather has taught her some of his tricks. I do not believe that she knows about his past, and I do not want him to find out right now. We have to be very careful around her. They cannot go too close to her. They cannot go into spaces where she can see them, like the underground garage or something like that. They have to wait outside and follow her home. They cannot enter the complex where she is staying. We have to remember that she is on high

“I asked something.” She exhaled sharply before looking back at me. “It’s obvious. I feel like shit.” She turned back and continued on the walk. I scoffed as I walked over the damp moss. I found a small population of one of the species we were researching. “Look,” I called out, “there’s a pattern here; follow this trail.” She listened and quietly followed me. I heard her stumbling and cursing a few times before she called out, “Found it.” “Do you think this might work?”

Now he is in shock. "Brayden," I scream through mindlink, snapping him out of it. "I wonder how she knows about this spot and where she is going," he mumbles. "I think I know exactly where she is going," I reply. "We need to follow her without being seen. Do you understand me?" "Yes, Alpha," he sighs.

"We'll see about that." She pulled out her phone and sent a quick text: *Keep an eye on her. I want to know where she goes, who she talks to. Everything.*

She turns away quickly and starts rushing in the opposite direction, and I follow after her. Everything else can wait. Although there are many people around us, I’m right on her tail so I don’t lose her. She glances at me over her shoulder occasionally with a pale face. I say, “Hey! Stop!” She ignores me and keeps going. I keep following her. I can’t give up now, not when I’m so close to reaching her. She makes a sharp turn to the left and I go after her. We’re stuck between two stalls, facing each other.

She just shakes her head and then grimaces, clutching her head. "Go, now! He's coming. Take a left and then you'll see the woods. It will lead you straight to Crimson Shadow. Go to your mate," she instructs and I don't stop to tell her that there's no one living in Crimson Shadow anymore. Following her instructions but vowing that I will come back for her, I am soon greeted with the sight of the woods and I let out a ragged breath, thinking about my next step. Where should I go?
