“Now you have three.” I stared at the plate. So did Poppy, but then her little face lit up. “Now it has personality.” Sebastian went back to cooking. “Thank God.” I lifted my mug and took a sip. It was perfect. I wanted one thing this morning I could hate without complications, and even the damn coffee had decided to take his side. Poppy started pouring maple syrup. I moved the bottle after three seconds. “Enough.” “I’m not done.” “Your pancreas is.”

"We should make the most of it." His eyebrow raised. "What did you have in mind?" "Nothing scandalous," I promised, standing and pulling him up with me. "But we could raid the kitchen for snacks Marcus probably doesn't want us eating." Damon's smile turned mischievous. "I like how you think." We raided the pantry like teenagers. Finding expensive chocolates Vanessa had hidden and Marcus's imported whiskey. I grabbed chips while Damon piled cookies onto a plate. "We're going to be in so much trouble," I giggled as we hauled our bounty to the kitchen island.

Right then, he seemed extremely focused. He was holding the fifth needle, and it was also the final needle he would use during this treatment. “Andrew!” Alex suddenly said. “The condition of your pancreatitis is already quite serious. I opened the refrigerator and inside was a Tupper with someone's pancakes. There was also a plate covered in cling film with overnight oats and fruits. I took both of them out. There was a sticky note attached to both of them. On the oats was a note. Eat me. And on the pancakes was the note. Microwave me and then eat me. I laughed, popped the Tupperware into the microwave, and opened the plate of oats hole. I waited for the pancakes to warm.

"Stop stealing my food!" "Come on, don't be stingy. I even pay your wages and you're not letting me eat just this?" Pan says. "Fine. I'm too tired to argue." I say as he grins and takes a whole spoonful. "We did pretty well today. My mother even asked when she will be getting a grandchild." I splutter and all the rice from my mouth ends up on Pan's face and clothes. "This is disgusting Tin!" Pan shouts as he stares in disgust at his clothes.

Micah’s POV The smell of pancakes hits first. The kind that feels like comfort and home mixed in one. Sandra is mid rant about how Alessandro’s mother fed her “like she has been starving since the last century,” and Alessandro is pretending not to laugh. “Do not look at me like that, Alessandro,” Sandra says, stabbing her pancake. “I saw you sneaking an extra plate last night.” He smirks. “That is what is called appreciating good food, not gluttony.”

And just like that I was certain he was not going to speak again. After the walk-through ended, I rubbed my stomach dramatically. “I’m starving.” Ethan gave me a look. “What do you want to eat?” I groaned. “I don't know but I’m tired of food that comes in tiny dots, I want real food. Bread, pasta and sauce. You know—things that weigh something.” “There’s this place I know,” Ethan started. “No,” I interrupted, “you’re going to suggest some place that serves $100 sushi made with gold leaf. I need grease and carbs. There’s a honey Italian spot near my apartment. They serve pasta like they mean it.”

The warm maple syrup was drizzled on the pancakes,thus, covering them in a brown, thick and sweet blanket. The visual only ,made my stomach begin to shout "Hunger,hunger,hungeeeeeer!"
