When Emily stirred someone touching her nice, she woke to see someone’s face in front of her. There was a light in front of its face, and she screamed out of fear. “What? What is it?” asked Joshua, trying to calm Emily down. It was Joshua holding the flashlight to his face. He was trying to scare her like the good old days. “Ah!” screamed Emily. “Emily?” questioned Joshua. “Shit did I went too far. I didn’t think she was going to be this scared,” he thought.

fear? She couldn’t explain the faint, ghostly shiver that swept over her at this moment. Which made her palms wet in cold sweat and clasping tightly without her even realizing it. It didn’t make sense. Wrath suited her current state far better than this unreasonable fear. Because, Josh was the one who had made many mistakes. A lot, in fact. And it all happened in just a matter of one day. So, shouldn't he be the one who was currently stricken with fear? Shouldn't he be the one on his knees begging for forgiveness?

Iris. As the words leave Josh’s ugly mouth, his fangs gleam in the light. I freeze. My blood runs cold. “NO, Josh! Don’t…!” Dinah’s scream shatters the moment. But it’s too late. One of them lunges at her. His teeth sink into her neck. I watch, helplessly, as her eyes stretch wide, pain, fear, disbelief, before they roll back and she crumples. Blood spills down her chest. The vampire lifts his mouth, blood staining his lips, his eyes wild.

Esther “We can’t let her train with us,” a clipped voice chimes in. “Josh!” Aiden turns to face the person I assume must be Josh. Josh is about 5’ 5”, very muscular, he is wearing shorts and his body is mapped with scars. He looks up at me with a scowl on his face. I don’t feel afraid of him, but despite his height, I realize how intimidating he could be to humans and other species. “She’s a fucking spy and a vampire. Why is everyone suddenly so welcoming?” He looks around the field, and I notice that training is on pause again.

I followed it down the hallway and kicked open the door to his room. Josh was lying in the hospital bed, his leg strapped up and his shoulder bandaged. When he saw me, his eyes went wide with fear. “What are you doing?” Josh asked, trying to sit up, trying to look brave even though I could smell his terror. I crossed the room in three strides and grabbed his jaw, my fingers digging into his skin hard enough to bruise. My claws pricked against his throat. “Where is she?” I snarled, and my voice came out more wolf than human.

As we walk up the front door, Ash slowly places a hand on the door and knocks gently. “Hello?? It’s me.” There’s a rushing sound from inside as some rushes to open the door. Surprisingly its not Alex that opens the door, its Josh. His eyes are swollen and puffy, turning red showing signs that his been crying over the people that have died. His hair is disheveled and all out of place, and he’s still covered in dirt and blood. “Good to see ya mate.” The words seem so unnatural as they fall out of Josh’s mouth. Ash nods his head,

“Damn right, I am. So you better listen to me and stay awake.” He didn’t respond. Ava’s pulse skyrocketed. “Jared!” His head lolled slightly, his breathing shallow. Ava felt something inside her crack. She had never been this scared in her life. Not when she had been hunted. Not when Loyd had threatened to take her as his own. Not even when she had pulled the trigger and watched her enemy fall. Nothing compared to the raw, gut-wrenching fear of losing him. The hospital lights appeared in the distance, a beacon of hope, but the car suddenly swerved hard.

With a choir, singing in her living room! “Beth,”Emma said ever so sweetly,“honey,are you totally sure you weren't having a dream?You must realize how this sounds!All this talk of caskets and corn children giving you ominous warnings….did you watch a horror movie before bed?You know how those upset you.” Beth composed herself as best she could.”No, I didn't watch a horror movie Em.I came downstairs thinking I’d left the telly on and there in my living room was a casket with me in it!And a choir of children.”
