In seconds, her human form was gone, replaced by a massive brown wolf with sharp amber eyes and thick fur that bristled with readiness.
“Come on,” I gasped, “drop me on her. We’ll be faster.”
Zevarion hesitated only a second before carefully placing me on Kavira’s back. I groaned, pain flaring in my spine, but I clung tightly to her coarse fur.
Kavira bolted. The forest blurred around us, wind tearing at my face. Her paws struck the ground with thunderous speed, she weaved between trees and leapt over roots like a shadow given form.
