Levi said. I let his words dance around in my mind. We were in our senior year of high school. It should have been weird for a human to own his own home at his age, but I’ve always known he wasn’t like the others. Levi’s parents came from money, so of course he inherited that. Despite having the background that he has, Levi has never come off as snobby or treated anyone like they were less than because they weren’t as well of as he was. He has his shoes on too. “You heading out?” I ask. “Yeah.” He says. “Just going for a walk.” “Oh.” I glance at the newspaper on the coffee table. “ I was kinda hoping we’d do the crossword. “Maybe later?” “Sure. No problem.” I try to keep my voice casual and not disappointed. “You need some company?” He shakes his head. “Um… no. It’s something I usually do alone.”

Levi asks, his curious gaze sliding between her and I. She looks back up at me as we respond with a “no” in unison. Levi’s eyes narrow on me for a moment, then he turns to the girl and flashes her a wide smile as he extends a hand. “Hi. I’m Levi.” I’ve seen that slick smile of his work on lots of women. Levi’s a good looking guy- tall, built, tousled black hair and striking green eyes- but above all, he knows how to turn on the charm. Dude pulls almost as much tail as I do.

No wonder he was not able to get Levy’s mother to agree to his proposal. Levy’s eyes flashed with a glint as she strode towards the bookshelves that were on the left of the room and pulled out a book that seemed old and used, as soon as she picked it out the book that was covered with dust immediately caused a bunch of dust to fly but Levy did not mind it. She wiped the dust and hurriedly started to skim the book, she was sure ——she was sure she will find something in these books! But she read one book then another, and then another …she did not find any message that was written in the book. Was … was she looking in the wrong direction or did that Elder Ezekiel lie to her to send her off?

I tucked my legs beneath me and threw the book back on to the table. Levi didn't say anything. Instead, he stood and dropped a book in my lap. Pyrokinesis. Was he joking with me? Conjuring flames? That's what he wanted me to do? "Now before you give me lip, there is an art to this-" Levi stopped short with his sentence and looked at me. My mind had wandered and he noticed. Great. "If you can keep those thoughts to yourself, that would be splendid," he whined in frustration and ran his hands through his hair.

He glanced toward the door, then turned to Ray, who was calmly sipping his tea. “Your mate is already stealing my mate,” Levi muttered. Ray didn’t look surprised. He just gave a low chuckle and said, “Well, she finally found someone who's a girl that she could actually relate to properly.” Levi gave him a look. Ray just grinned, leaning back with a satisfied sigh. “You sound like a jealous boyfriend.” “Maybe I am,” Levi said without hesitation, his eyes still on the entrance.
