A slow, and sinister smirk spread across his lips. "Is that so?" I asked. She nodded. "Then I suppose I no longer need a mate like her." His voice dropped lower, and even colder. "I cannot have someone like you as my Luna, Lisa." My body locked up immediately. "W.. what..?" His words hurt like a spear driven into my heart.

“I never asked for this.” “No chosen one ever does.” The Seer walked closer, raising a trembling hand. “When the curse was placed upon Kael’s bloodline, only a Moonborn could undo it. You did. But that was only the beginning. There is more.” “More?” Kael growled. The Seer nodded. “Another is coming. One who calls himself Alpha King, but whose blood is tainted. He gathers rogue packs to his banner, hunting the Moonborn. If he kills her, the original flame dies, and the true Alphas fall forever.”

He looked up, his gaze intense. "I would never sacrifice you, Ava," he said, his voice dropping an octave. "In this game... you are not the pawn. You are the Luna Queen. And the Alpha King?" Prologue “Luther! You cannot do this to me!” Alpha King Luther Reeds stopped on his track, turning around to look at Katherine. His eyes burned in a fury. No one dares to utter his name. No one disrespects him. He is the Alpha King of the Northern Kingdom, and no one addresses him by name. No one. Not even his own mate. “You dared to utter my name?” he growled, as he stormed closer to her in the corridor of the second floor of the palace.
