"Mom begs you, seeing you like this breaks my heart..." I wiped my tears and looked at my mother: "Then take me to see Kael." "I need to see him, dead or alive." My parents looked at each other, their eyes full of pain and struggle. Finally, my father nodded heavily: "Okay, I'll take you to see him." They didn't take me to the pack morgue. Nor did they take me to a funeral home. Instead, they drove me to the Pack's Ancestral Cemetery in the forest.

The ley lines beneath the university pulsed in recognition. Kael shifted back to human form, chest heaving, wounds already healing. Naked, bloodied, magnificent. “You two… still sane?” Damien gave a sharp nod, fangs retracted. “For now.” Serena raised her hands, sending a wave of protective violet energy that pushed back a wave of approaching infected. “We can’t stay here. They’re multiplying too fast.” A fresh horde poured from the freshman dorms — dozens of students, some still wearing pajamas, now snarling monsters. Among them, Kael spotted his little cousin, a bright-eyed freshman who had looked up to him like a hero.

That thought makes my head ache because if he's willing to expose everything… Then this war just escalated. I arrive at the campus and immediately hear the chaos. Screams. Running footsteps. Something smashing through concrete. Students are pouring out of the main courtyard like ants escaping a burning nest. Some are crying. Some are shouting. Some are just running blindly. I grab the first student rushing past me. “What happened.” He looks like he’s about to faint. “Monsters!” Not helpful. “What kind.” “I don’t know!” Then he pulls free and runs again.

He collapsed against the low parapet, his tactical vest scorched and torn. Below, the campus was a frenzied anthill. The monsters—the ‘Rabbits’—were no longer methodical hunters. They were rabid, sprinting in erratic packs, smashing through windows, tearing at the air itself. Their shrieks formed a constant, maddening choir.

I whispered as the sun began to peek over the FUTO horizon, painting the campus in shades of rose and gold. He looked at me, and for the first time in fifty-five chapters, the shadows were gone from his eyes. He leaned in, kissing me with a softness that made the world stand still. It wasn't a kiss of desperation; it was a kiss of peace. "It's over, Elara," he whispered against my lips. "The Monster is dead. Only the man is left."

The next day at camp they all woke up to find out that their food was all gone, everywhere littered and it looked like a tornado had just passed, leaving everyone devastated and confused at the same time. Jack tries to calm everyone "Don't panic, we are going to fix this" As he is talking, everyone looking at him, At his back came a creature, a beast so enormous and scary, it gnarled and They all saw it and their mouths were wide open, Jack backing the beast was wondering why their facial expression was like that, then the people pointed at the beast before he could turn, the beast scratched him with its claw and lifted him with one of his fingers throwing him on the ground.

The group sat huddled in the dark confines of the university's invaded workshop, their breaths shallow as tension weighed heavy in the air. The last attack had shaken them to their core—more than the fear of zombies, it was the realization that these creatures were not acting mindlessly. Questions hung in the room like a fog, suffocating them, though no one dared to voice them.

"The person I traveled with wouldn't stop talking about how smart and intelligent she is. Let me tell you this. It was the longest trip I ever had to take, and I really miss you guys." Hothead starts to cry. He cries into my jacket but I push him away. I raise my arm and point toward the massive crowd of new students walking somewhere. I nudge my head and follow after the students. Jump and I walk while Hothead drags his luggage behind him. Altogether, we all follow this stone path leading us from the platform through a small peaceful forest. After the forest, we find ourselves face to face with Yellow Sun Academy. "Wow," Jump says, her eyes going wide.

“I didn’t get the chance to thank you.” Her breath shook. “Thank me? You kissed me without my permission,” she whispered. “You scared me. And now—now you’re here? Why? What do you want from me?” The corner of his mouth tilted, almost amused. “So you know who I am.” “You’re Adriano Greco,” she said, her voice trembling. “The monster people talk about.” He took another step closer. “Monster?” he repeated softly. “That’s what they call me?”

I woke naked at the top of Moonlight Mountain, sprawled near the cliff’s edge. I didn’t remember climbing here, but the view stole my breath away. From this height, I could see everything, our pack’s vast territory stretching out below, Alpha’s mansion sleek and gleaming in the distance. My gaze shifted further, to the university. MMU, Moonlight Mountains University. I could just make out students rushing to take their classes for finals. A thrill rushed through me. Soon, I’d be one of them.
