Novel Outline Novels & Stories

Many times. The outline I started with isn't the story you just finished reading. Characters changed. Plot twists appeared out of nowhere. Some scenes refused to cooperate. Others surprised me so much that I had to throw away my original plans. There were days I stared at a blank page wondering if I had made a terrible mistake by trying to write my own book. But somehow... Here we are. The End. Is this a perfect novel? No. Not even close.

I heard someone say something that caught my attention, so I stopped typing and turned my head to look for the person who entered my room. When I noticed that it was the head housemaid, holding a glass of iced coffee that I requested a while ago, I smiled at her. “Thank you so much. You can just place it beside my laptop.” I looked at my laptop again and started typing. I was just working on the outline of my novel first so I could recall it if ever I had writer’s block. It would be easy for me to finish my novel, especially if I’m getting lazy sometimes to write. I always force myself to work and imagine sometimes which leads me not to be satisfied with my work and looks like I forced every

Oh, I definitely missed this, I muttered to myself. Since my latest novel was successfully completed and published 3 months ago, I decided to develop a new story outline. Something unique and modern that can really change the hearts and minds of millions of individuals based on reading them. I need to come up with something a little more different from what I have previously written in my novels and articles. I gazed at the window from my workstation while clinging to the hope of acquiring inspiration, when I got completely captivated by the pink and orange clouds in the sky as it indicates that the early evening darkness is about to transpire and take over the once brightly lit sky.

"I won't tell you writing a novel is not an easy job, It is actually easy when you know exactly what you are doing and you like what you are writing." "When you want to write a novel, make sure you do your researches and outline your plot. Plotting is very Important." I added, a little bit delighted they were paying attention "Your story has to begin with an interesting hook, make sure the prologue and first chapter creates a desire to read more, for your readers."

First I want to thank everyone who has followed Sky's journey this far. I have been writing this story for a year now and it is surreal that we are still here. When I started it was for a contest just to see if the thoughts in my head could be made into something tangable and it has grown to so much more. My outline and plot has grown and changed as I developed characters further and deeper than I ever expected. I have learned and grown as a writer in this whole process. This is my third book on this platform and by far my best and most thought out work.

My fingers were cramping, my thesaurus was smoking, and I kept picturing my editor sending me an email with only one word: "Seriously?" I realized: I should just end it here, gloriously, before I completely lose my mind, break my keyboard, and start writing about the wallpaper pattern instead. Speaking of losing my mind... I pulled out my notes the other day. When I started outlining this story and figuring out the twists and turns, I came up with almost 60... maybe 50-something... different plot points and outlines just to keep the momentum going. Sixty! Fifty! I lost count! That's how dedicated I was to not making this story boring. That’s like a novella’s worth of rejected ideas!

Aloha Lovely readers, Thank you so much for your patience as I contemplate next steps for this story. To be honest, deciding how to move forward has been a struggle for me. But I've finally made a decision and I'm ready to stick to it. You see, the novella I wrote for Rhett and Brynlee wasn't planned. It was a story that developed in my mind as I wrote Olivia's book, which is why I didn't write a longer book for them. I've had this entire series planned for a while and they just weren't in it. That was a lack of foresight on my part, I suppose.

My thinking is that I add an authors note a the end of 'book' 1 so to speak and re-write the synopsis to advise any new readers that it will be 2 books in one. Alternatively, the other idea I had was to just have a longer book, but I don't want the length to scare off new readers. Thanks in advance! :)

AUTHOR’S NOTE: Nyahoo~! I apologized for the long break. It took time to finish writing outlines. I did finish one story whole outline and still currently working for two stories outlines. But I have enough to continue these three ongoing stories including this novel. That's as close to a happy ending as I might be able to get away with. The second outline is called Pride, and is my version of Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austin. I will be the daughter that is sold off to marry wealth so that her family can keep their estate. Conner will play my husband, but instead of it being a love-after-marriage type story, I will get away with poisoning Conner and inheriting it all through his fake will. I put the twist at the very end because I doubt Conner will read the whole outline.
