"Oh shit, hi! Am I in your way?" I poked my head up from over Kyo's and laughed. "No, she just likes to mess with people. Don't you, girl?" I slid down from her back and bowed my head. "I'm Nyxie, new around here. Sorry if she scared you." The demon looked to Kyo, who was slightly smirking at him. "Uh, I'm Nero." His gaze turned to me. "So you're the Nyxie I've heard so much about."

“Open it.” Nico reached under the console and withdrew a velvet-lined box. The same one that was on the screen. He set it on the table and flicked the clasp. Inside, a single chess piece lay on its side: a knight, carved from onyx. Beside it was a folded slip of card. He slid the card to Nero. Nero opened it with a thumb, eyes flicking once across the line. “‘Check,’” he read aloud, the word drained of surprise, of anything but cold interest. “Cute,” he added, turning the card around to see if there was anything on the back.

Just when I thought I was winning, Xavier pushed me back harder till I landed on the ground heating my head. Nyx winced in pain blood sizzling down. *You think you are strong huh?” His voice was loud in my head. I growled as his claws scratched my fur. Nyx snared in pain trying to fight back but his grip was tight. “You are no Enigma… Once an Omega always an Omega, don’t you ever forget that.” His canines sunk into my throat, Nyx howling in pain as everything started fading. "Sage..." I whispered as though I could feel him but couldn’t tell.

Alpha Lachlan abruptly answered. “Alpha Lachlan!” Alpha Mikhail screamed in smothered anger, teeth clenched. He felt disrespected. But when he glanced on the big black wolf whose stares and furs had engraved a lot of memories on his heart, he know instantly the disrespect doesn't came from Alpha Lachlan. “What is this Nyx?!” He stared at her and then beckoned an omega. “Oh, fuck! Give her something to wear and Beta Mellow too,” he added noticing there are two Wolves on his sight, wet and tired.

Yumi's POV - 5ft, 11 inches tall, alloy-orange long hair held in a male bun, amazonite eyes, and a funny sweet smile. That’s Nyx; my ex and first love. He’s only two years older than I am and he’s been mated to someone else for the past two years, and I’m deeply overjoyed he’s going to be a dad. “You look more excited than I do.” Nyx smirks and proceeds to say, “So, how’s it like now that you’ve found your mate?” I stiffen to stillness and everyone laughs at me.

Across every screen, in brutal white letters, a message blazed: Tag acquired. Retrieval authorized. Nyxara laughed, a sound that started low and grew wild, edged with something ancient and dangerous. “Oh,” she whispered, soft as snowfall, deadly as a blade in the dark. “So that’s your game.” She straightened to her full height, wiped the blood from her mouth, and let her eyes blaze with the impossible light of her legacy—violet and white, fury and power. “You just made yourselves easy to find.”

Jester soundlessly activated a spell, and the golden embroidery on his fur-lined cape glowed as he fed his power through it. Nyxian magic centered around the ambiguous concept of the mind and soul. His mother’s clan were not generally warriors who would fight on the front lines (he and Lady Carlessi were notable exceptions), simply because war was of no interest to them. They were pacifists, mostly, who could be spurred to violence only for the protection of the clan or to avenge an offense. And perhaps because they shepherd the dead and dying, the Nyxis regard life as a sacred thing and hardly killed.

A short girl voluminous body, tan skin, black hair, green eyes, and always seems to be left out by her friends. The other girl with yellowish blonde, bright blue eyes, pale skin, and hasn't stopped smiling ever since she stepped into this room a few minutes ago. "Let's just say I've made my share of enemies over the years. But I'm not afraid of them. I'll do whatever it takes to protect myself and my business." As they spoke, Miriam couldn't help but notice the prince's confidence. He seemed almost...smug. Like he knew something they didn't. "Prince Salim, can I ask you something?" Miriam said, her tone probing. "Of course," the prince replied. "Do you know anything about the graffiti left at the crime scenes?" Miriam asked. "The one that says 'I AM FURY'?" The prince's expression didn't change, but Miriam detected a flicker of something in his eyes. Interest? Recognition?

The thing staggered, but it didn’t drop. “This is insane!” Blue yelled, slashing at another one. Nyx fought with a deadly confidence that I had never seen. She was fast, using her daggers to strike at their chests, but no matter how many times she cut them, they wouldn’t stop. “These things don’t feel pain!” she shouted, frustration clear in her voice. Gary growled in annoyance. He shifted into his wolf form, lunging at one of the dead and ripping into its throat. But even that didn’t stop it. The thing didn’t even flinch.
