By the time the buses showed up an hour and a half later the camp was alive. I had turned my car on, with doors hanging open, car radio on blaring country music and the fire blazing gently while I lay in the hammock next to the fire, holding my guitar and a beer down on the grass next to me. It’s not much, but hey it’s ours and it is pretty spacious for a camper inside. All the kids fit, plus 3 dogs, and Robby and I, so I can’t complain. I get coffee ready for Robby and the older kids. It came at 2am on a Thursday. I know because Jax had fixed the camp's one functioning clock, a battered analog thing someone had hung on a tent pole, and I had checked it twenty minutes before because I couldn't sleep and needed something to look at that wasn't the treeline. 1:41am. It would take them up to 3-4 hours before they could reach their destination. Cassy and the tour guide was confused about the time he chose to start climbing.
