Meanwhile, Stephen walked with a commanding presence, seemingly unaffected by the ongoing chaos and killings around him. His left hand remained calmly in his pocket, not holding any weapon, and his gaze was steady. It was as if he were walking on a runway despite being in the midst of a war. Once they finally entered the building, Stephen raised his gun and fired twice. The two enemies fell on the cold cement floor, groaning in pain. Both had been shot in the legs.

Only steps away, he heard the horde coming. He dropped to one knee in firing position as his teammates escorting the diplomats rushed passed, and waited. The moment the first attacker cleared the corner he fired, hitting him in the chest. The guy fell, arms outstretched, knocking back the man behind him. Hunter shot him in the head and didn’t pause to watch him hit the floor.

AVA Without another word, Hunter moves swiftly away from the lockers, passing by his two friends whose names I'm guessing are Preston and Gomorey. They had been gawking at Hunter with a mischievous grin playing on their lips, and Hunter didn't waste a chance to shoot them both with his penetrating glare. I noticed their pupils retrench as they stared at him, meaning they were conversing with each other through mindlink. It was brief, lasting a couple of seconds before Hunter turns left and straight down the now-empty halls.

I said and lean into him and bite his neck so hard sucking his blood. He screamed. People said a wolf bite was stronger but a hybrid bite was more painful and stronger. I let go of him at the last minute when I could feel life leaving him. Spared a glance at Dean and his side piece and walked away. “Where the hell are you? They outsmarted us and they are about to start burning us, including me” Hunter said faintly through the mind link. What the actual hell?

My heart pounds in my ears and I tighten my fingers around my gun as I scan the area. There. Two hunters in my line of sight. Focus. Aim. Breathe. I exhale sharply, steady my aim, and pull the trigger. The first shot hits one in the leg, sending him stumbling with a sharp cry. The second bullet finds its mark in another hunter’s stomach and he drops instantly. Movement to my left. Jake is already on the wounded hunter, claws tearing through his vest as the man screams. The other barely has time to react before Tyler crashes into him like a freight train.

Getting closer to him, Hunter grabbed Stone's shirt bringing him to a stop and they both fell in the middle of the road. Stone’s bag was laying on the road. Hunter slowly got up panting heavily. Stone looked at Hunter as if he knew him but didn’t say a word. He dived for his bag while Hunter jumped on but he rolled over and reached for the .44 Magnum Handgun and pointed it at Hunter. Hunter raised his hands in the air. Stone stepped back whilst looking around. In a flash, a soldier dived at Stone sending them both to the ground. Hunter stepped back and wanted to turn around when he was hit in the back with a plank; he almost fell.

It was Stephen! He ran out of the forest and shouted, “Stephen! Run!” Stephen was stunned. He saw Hugo and heard the latter’s voice telling him to run. What was happening? Before he could register the words... Bang! A loud sound rang out. Stephen froze and instinctively staggered back two steps. His security team immediately moved in front of him. Gunfire! Stephen stumbled forward a few steps before collapsing face-first to the ground, rolling several times before coming to a stop. “Got him! Hurry up! We need to kill Stephen before he escapes!”
