She wanted to crawl to Quinn but Elder John and Samuel watched her curiously. “What’s the matter, Ivy, what happened to show me what you’re made of?” Elder John taunted. “Leave her be!” Quinn growled, getting to his feet. The poison was getting to him, but he had to show John he wasn’t weak. “Stay down dog!” John growled kicking him in the face. “The more you fight the poison the longer it takes to kill you. You might as well just lay there and let it work its magic.” Ivy tried getting to her feet, but she was too weak. She was able to get to her knees.

“I swear to God, Mr. Blackwood, I didn’t know it was poison! I would never hurt Ava! I swear!” I heard Ivy gasp from behind me as the words left her friend's mouth. “You didn’t know what was poison?” I snarled, stepping forward to grab the collar of her shirt. I yanked her upward until she was forced to look me directly in the eyes. “Speak before I snap your neck right here!” She gasped for air, her eyes wide with fear as she stared up at me. “I was just following orders!" A kiss of death.” I smirked. “ Well… Ivy, I'd die a happy man.” He looked at my lips and we laughed together. We settled back on the sofa for movie night, blankets, dim lights, rain still falling. Halfway through, my head started throbbing sharp and sudden, like someone had driven a spike behind my eyes.

Rolling my shoulders back, I walk around my desk and sink into my chair. “Take her to the wine cellar, it seems poison Ivy here is a sucker for pain.” I give the order as I pick up my tumbler glass filled two fingers high of whiskey, the amber liquid burns my throat as I toss it back in a single gulp. Lorenzo and Luca both grab Ivy by the upper arm, and they begin to drag her out.
