Every night, Alexa and Chris communicated and with the news she was hearing, Alexa realized how close to death she was and it scared her. Clues, Chris had asked for clues that could help them but she didn't know what to tell him...till now. She remembered the day before when Morty was telling her how much he enjoyed playing on the merry go round, or as he called it, the round swing and there's only one playground with that ride in their area, Tim's playground. That night she tried to talk to Chris but she couldn't for some reason. Maybe Josie found out and blocked their communication somehow, but she couldn't get through to him.

Back at Declan's and my shared home, I looked at the small cuts covering the soles of my feet. I cleaned them with rubbing alcohol, numb to the sting, and glanced around the room out of habit. The home that had once felt warm had slowly been filled with Petra's things without my ever noticing. "Wren, Petra gave me this stuffed rabbit. Put it on the couch for me. I want to see it every day. "Wren, Petra got me this tie. Isn't it nice?

"Amanda, would you please come for lunch and bring Patrick and Mike with you," I yell down the hall as I set out the plates for lunch. Amanda is now five years old and looks exclusively like a mini me. Except her eyes, they are like pools of honey, just like her fathers. "coming mommy," she replies, yelling down the hall. I've been called mommy plenty times by now but I still get a warm fuzzy feelin in my stomach every time it happens. Jason, Tommy, Knight and Damian are outside, Jason is cooking meat on the barbecue and they are all chatting and sipping their beers. I can't hear much of their conversation but I get the just of what they are talking about. Sport and politics, I'm super glad

"Let's play a game." What? He didn't prepare an appropriate response for me, and the next thing he wanted to do was play a game with me. "I... can't." The words hung in my mouth; what if the game was more of a requirement for my freedom? Then I asked, "Is this related to my freedom? I don't believe my master wants to play a game with me." He chuckled slightly, "Yes, it was about your freedom. Let's Play isn't just a game. Games."

Plenty of time to change the ending. On my way to grab Mom's lunch, I spotted Judy—smug, glowing like she'd just scored big. I tried to breeze past, but her high-pitched, fake-sweet voice cut through the hall. "Shiloh! Money comes in slow when you've got a real job. Good thing you lent me some!" I smirked. "Yeah, but you rake it in faster doing nothing. Just open your mouth and take it from our family. The future Leonhart heir spends more on a pet than that."

Theo was explaining goat ownership plans. Poppy was drawing family pictures. Harper rested against Noah. Daisy rested against Roman. For a while nobody spoke. The comfortable kind of silence. The family kind. Then Poppy suddenly looked up from her drawing. "I forgot something." Everyone looked over. "What?" Harper asked. Poppy held up her picture. There were stick figures everywhere. Noah. Harper. Theo. Herself. Roman. Daisy. Lillie. And several tiny new figures. "What are those?" Noah asked.

Finn stared at the outstretched hand, looking from the library aisle and the safety of his solitude toward the door where the world, his mom, and the gossip were waiting for him. Taking a deep breath, he adjusted his glasses and reached out. His hand felt smaller in mine, though his grip was tentative but firm. "Three months," Finn agreed, his voice shaking slightly. "But if you make me go to a football game, I'm breaking up with you." A grin broke across my face while closing my fingers around his, sealing the deal completely. "Deal," I declared. "Now, come on. We have a party to crash."
